#0068 dc series 2, 5 speed Can't Post

Hi: Dave from Ky here. I have dc series2 #0068. Has anyone out there seen a lower #? Mine is also a 5 speed, built in Jan (the first production month). Has anyone seen a lower # 5 speed. Could this be one of the first 3-5 five speeds made. it has 48,000 miles.... anyone interested in purchasing it? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks, daveDanceDance

mine is #45, also built in January '03, but it's an auto. I haven't heard of any lower #s than yours in manual. In fact, the only number lower than mine I've heard was #22, and it got sold in here Cali. I think it was an auto, too.

how come you're gonna sell that beauty?

Don't really care to sell, but I am not a huge fan of the cruiser.... I just thought the cars looked cool. I ordered one back during the first year of production and never got it because of the overwhelming demand. Then I saw this one and instantly fell in love with the color combo. If autostick production was about 10 times that of the manuals.... then this COULD be one of the first five 5 speeds off the line. (maybe the first). Then you KNOW the Chrysler VIPS got some of the early cars for themselves, especially for a special vehicle like this. The cars are now over 5 years old and some have been wrecked, etc. This all points to the fact that this vehicle, and yours, could be worth saving as a collector car. I am a huge auto enthusiast and have been buying and selling old cars for 30 years and I can tell you for sure that the production of only 297 five speeds make this the second rarest vehicle I have seen produced since WW 2. I just thought someone who IS a HUGE fan of these cars should own this one. I will sell it for book value just to see it in the hands of someone who would appreciate it.
