Just to be clear, both driver and passenger front windows stopped working at the same time? I'm not sure of the design of the switch or the wiring, but I would look at the switch or the wiring, especially if the two front windows share a common or +12V supply line apart from the rear windows. ----------

If both windows start working again at the same time, I would really think the problem is in the switch. ----------

I had the exact same problem a few days ago. They wouldn't work until I shut off the car and started it again. I think it had something to do with the child safty switch that cuts off control to the back window switches in the rear. The switch was between settings when I started the car. I flipped it a few times to see if that would let them start working, but had to shut off the key and turn it back on before they did. It is odd that it was the FRONT windows that didn't want to work. Maybe they are all tied together? -Ray ----------
