Hi The EGR valve, or Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve, is a vacuum controlled valve which allows a specific amount of your exhaust back into the intake manifold. This exhaust mixes with the intake air and actually cools the combustion process. You'll know if your EGR valve is stuck or malfunctioning because your car will experience symptoms like rough idle and bucking on acceleration and cause the CEL to come on. They run around $90.00 at your local parts store. Attached is a pic. Good luck Mike ----------

I had the code come up for the EGR as well. Had it diagnosed at AutoZone and they said to replace it. I had to buy it from the dealer because they didn't stock it. If you have to, it's not to bad of a job to replace. It's mounted on the lower side of the engine on the drivers side near the fuse box. The hoses run up to what looks like a diaphram between engine and the fire wall by the throttle body. There's a snap ring that I managed to pop loose with a screwdriver to get that part of it off. Took about 45 mins. ---------- If it's gonna happen - it's gonna happen out there.
