2005 GT Quality and Other Questions Can't Post

Hey Crew:

I have a 2005 GT I picked up 6/27, have about 4600 miles on it.

Have some Qs and if they've been addressed here B4, sorry, plz point me to those threads:

My one main ***** about it is that the windows rattle and still do even after two visits to the dealer to fix them

1)rattle with top down and windows up
Dealer response: 'Oh no, we can't adjust them, they're factory set that way to seal properly with the top up...besides all the one we looked at on the lot rattle'

2)rattle with the top up and going over bumps
Dealer response: Thats expected noise because of a loss of structure integrity due to being a soft top'

Does everyone's windows rattle as above or have you had success in getting your dealer to somehow tighten the windows up?

Also have problems with the passanger seat and seatbelt buckle rattling no matter how I position the seat or tuck in the clip...thoughts on how to correct this?

Sorry for the B&M moan session, two more items:

Upon start up, I have a rattle noise coming from the front passanger side of the engine, almost sounds like a loose belt....of course the dealer can hear or identify the problem

Turbo----Past month, seems it takes about 300-400 more RPM to feel the turbo kick in...previously, right at 3000 RPM in any gear, the boost would come on, now it takes up to 3400 RPM to feel it...I'm using 93 Octane...winter gas here in the NE maybe causing the problem? No other changes have been made to the car except it's 2nd oil change.

Thanks for letting me vent....otherwise, still loving the car!

No rattles in windows with top up or down. Seatbelt rattles here too.... just the way it hangs...only suggestion is to maybe wrap it. Good luck Wave

You are going to the wrong dealer! The windows, the rear 1/4 windows have to be tipped out. That will take care of the rattle. I have an '05 GT Ragtp and I fix them www.leakpro.com The roof rattle, that could be normal as the roof does flex and the windows/header don't. You can use silicone lube on the wetherstrips and all rubber to prevent rattles. I use and recommend GM#992887. You can get it from a GM dealership (it is the best stuff around) and it is a toothpaste tube for about $20.00. It will last you years! Where are you from as I may have a franchisee in your area.
