This is all new to me, I'm just at the looking to buy stage. When will the 2006 models/colors be available here? Thanks.

I would like that info also. Would think we will know in a couple of months. There are pics at edmunds that I think are the '06 Cruiser. I'm thinking it might be better to get an '05.

I just did a search (independent of this querie) for the 2006 Cruiser. Here is what I found:
It is not quite as different as I expected. The headlights are different. It is a little squarer that my rounded body. The bumper is different, unless that is not a stock bumper.

Thanks. I like the slightly new look. But I want a dark purple one with a navigation sysem, with a red convertible top.

Are you are referring to the Lava Red Convert with the Red top in the "05 line up? That is the Dream Cruiser 4 and you will need to get it now. Chrysler has never offered one of the Dream Cruiser colors on any other Cruiser. They also are built in limited numbers.
I would doubt that will will over the red top again.

Where in LA are you?
You can just go to Chrysler.com and do an inventory search. I just did it for David Ellis in Canoga Park and it SAYS they have 9! Hint: you're looking for Deep Lava Red and on David Ellis's inventory it was called a Chrysler Dream, not under the PT cruisers...
