2006 Window Switch on older convertibles?

We own a 2005 GT that we bought last November. At the time the dealer already had some '06s in stock, so we had a chance to compare the differences in the interiors. One thing I noticed that the '06's have, is an extra button in the middle of the power window switches that will raise or lower all four windows at once. This would sure be handy whenever you're raising (especially) the top on the Cruiser (I already know you can lower all four windows when lowering the top by fully pressing the top down button). So here's the deal - I've been thinking, would an '06 switch fit into an older Cruiser, with only a need to cut an addional hole in the dashplate for the extra button? Is the switch the only thing different, i.e., is that all there is to be able to make all 4 windows work at once? Or is there some additional circuitry somewhere? Anybody else ever done this, or looked into it? I'll probably start by checking out the parts sometime to see if a swap is even feasible. MAB ----------

Never thought about it. The last Rag-Top I owned had roll up windows (49 Plymouth) so the electric was awesome. I guess rolling up all 4 at the same time would be nice..... ---------- Jack Smith (Smittys PT) Webmaster Colorado Cruiser Club

Thats a great idea but I think the problem you are going to run into is the dash on the 06 is different. if it was like the 05 were that section pops out you disconnect the wires and throw the new one in pop it in place ago then it would work. ----------
