2007 PT cruiser GT - the last of the breed? Can't Post

New here - sorry if this has already been discussed - but the Chrysler website
makes it look like that '07 is the last year for the PT Cruiser GT?

I'm considering a purchase - there are two Chrysler dealerships in Ohio that have
a black '07 GT still sitting on the lot.
One has the Boston Acoustics. Is this a good system for a factory setup?

I have an 06' PT Convertible and the Boston Acoustics sounds great! It can hold it's own even when full blast and bass is enough to fool people into asking me if I have aftermarket subs! You can prolly get a good deal on the 07's so I would pounce! Oh u said it's a GT, so is mine! Great get up and go! Have you test driven it yet? I love the stock rims on the GT's, people compliment my rims ALLLL the time! Have FUN Wink hope this helps!

Hello and welcome.

As far as I know, the GT was discontunued after 2006, but if there are 2 2007's at your dealer then I was wrong. However, I do know that there is absolutely no GT for 2008.

***3 significant years.
2008 they delete the GT.
2006 1st re-design of the PT
2005 1st year for the convertible and last year for the classic full grill.

otherwise everything else is a mish mosh of dream cruisers, series releases, edition creations. All good stuff and plenty for the consumer to choose from.

Turbo 2.4L LITE
Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.

CoolHello and welcome from Mike and Ginny Casabianca Of Yonkers New York.I have a 01 Limited Edition with the factory system and the Mopar subwoofer located in the back drivers map compartment driven with a built in 80 watt amplifier and am extremely happy with the sound quality. It is not very well known but Chrysler Factory Systems are Manufactured by Infinity Audio so you are starting with good stuff to begin with. The Boston Acoustics system has the factory system with upgraded speakers and subwoofer driven by a 300 watt amplifier. When I had the opportunity to listen to it I was Pleasantly surprised.Miss CRN is Black and the wonderful thing about this color is no matter what the occasion you are always dressed appropriately.By all means snatch up the GT because wih all the incentives it is a win win purchase. All the best and God Bless....Mike

No more Seamist Green, no more GTs, and more recently, no more convertibles. I think it is obvious to most all -- the "breed" is on its way out.

Yup, I see the '07 was the last year for the GT. I also don't see the Dream Cruiser, what was the last year for that?

Re: [ecarfar] 2007 PT cruiser GT - the last of the breed? Can't Post

The last year for the Dream Cruiser Series was 2005: Dream Cruiser series 4. Convertible PT in Deep Lava Red Metallic and every option available. (The most expensive by far.)

Since 2006 the Street Cruiser Series took over with the Route 66 edition, followed by Pacific Coast Highway edition, and now the Sunset Boulevard Edition.

The last Dream Cruiser was the Series 4 in 2005, there were several "Street Cruisers" though (non Gt/Turbo), like the '06 RT66 Edition, '07 Pacific Coast Highway Edition, and the latest is the '08 Sunset Boulevard Edition.

I think that they did not make anymore Dream Cruisers due to the cost, the '05 DC4s were window stickered at just over $31,000.00, and did not sell very well, the Street Cruisers were quite a bit less with out the Turbo and all the Dream options that were in the DC series.

But I have mine, after it sat on the dealer lot for 11 months, and they dropped the price by almost $10,000.00!!SmileSmile

Hi ...new to the forum...turned in my 02 sedan in for an 06 dodge hemi truck, bad move..just before gas prices really did a leap, anyway the wife never forgave me for turning in her black "woody" car . Fast forward to early this year, I started looking for a black conv, heres the problem ,she wanted colth seats, cheap wheels, radio, you name it but I wanted the HP ( turbo), found some back east but were 49 state cars ( Can't get em smogged in Calif) funny thing ,in calif there are lots of new PT's (loaded leather ,optioned etc cars) new on lots that are 07 06 and even 05"s with o miles and they still are trying to sell them at 21 to 29 K, I went to my local dealer and simply ordered the 08 , first dealer that I went to said he would look for one , I told him I been and done that , then he said it would take 6-9 months for delivery, the next dealer I talked to said aprox a 2 month wait..anyway 2months ,$21,800 dollars later the wife got her car back , of course that didn't include the $1800 woody kit "surf city crusiers" of huntington beach ca installed,( I'm very happy with the install and it does look great, it doesn't look like a rental car) but at least now I'm back sleeping in the house, that dog house was starting to get cold this winter. The 08 catalog just shows the 180 hp turbo for this year, and I'm very happy with it

Yeah, looks like the "limited" version is the 180hp turbo-lite. I also see they no longer offer the autostick. I think Chrysler is giving up entirely on the PT and, maybe, in general. I just looked at the Dodge Challenger online and, while it comes with a 425hp engine, it's mated to an automatic transmission with no manual transmission choice. Why would they do that? I'm glad I got mine before they decided to give up.
