Hi there! I'm a current PT owner who is looking at possibly getting a new PT sometime within the next couple model years since my daughter took my first PT. I've been researching for a while now, and I can't seem to figure something out. If the neon base is no longer being manufactured, what wheel base will the 2007 PT cruiser be riding on? Furthermore, what will the future ones be riding on if they are putting off the redesign till possible '08, '09, or even '10? I'm a bit lost. I was planning on waiting to see what they were showing at the Paris Auto show this September since I've heard a new design might be debuted there, but now I'm starting to wonder...

Just because they have stopped making the Neon does not mean they can't make PT Cruiser. They are not made in the same plant and share few parts anyway. The 2007 will be the same as the 2006.
At this point we do not know what platform will be used for gen II PTs. It could be from the Caliber, a longer Caliber like is used on the Nitsu Outlander, or the new Sebring. Then again it might not share many parts with any of these.

Thanks for your help so far! Its really helped! Now in reference to a possible Calibur base,
