We hope Dave will be back to good health and up on his feet, so best wishes to him....we're thinking about you buddy! ;) I thot I'd post this for the staff.....they are working hard to take care of everything, while Dave is going thru some tuff times. Everyone will be able to attend the River Run and have a great time!!! Leave your woes at home and come join the fun, in "Little Las Vegas". No matter where they hail from and no matter what group or club they come from, once people have known Dave and Mara, you're friends. Keep him in all of your thoughts and prayers....it never hurts. He's still at the Sinah hospital in LA, so when he gets home and feels better, I'll keep everyone updated. Once a PT'r, always a PT'r at heart. I haven't talked to Dave, but Jan Campbell does regularly, and she said as of now, the PT River Run IS going to happen!! I won a registration to it last May, when I was at the Picnic In the Park in CA, and I promised Dave and Mara I'd be there, if he were there. So I intend to be there, no matter what. It has all hinged on whether Dave could get the help needed, to make it happen. The group that has stepped up to the plate to help, went on their cross-country trek and just got back home after my event here in NM the first of November. So now that they are back and rested, they are willing to make the River Run happen. I'm so glad, like you. It IS a great event and the venue is so excellent. I'm glad I can rearrange my 2008 schedule to be there, and will be hoping to see everyone there. I hear the margaritas are .99 cents!!!! I'll keep the PTCC updated, as I know Dave has finshed his rounds of Chemo and is getting a little stronger and able to sit up and get around a little now. March 13-16, 2008. JUST when I thot this trip couldn't have any more fun things to do, now a group of us are planning on extending our stay in Laughlin and going over to the Grand Canyon on Monday the 17th!!! .............. The Grand Canyon Railway ( www.thetrain.com ) makes a trip from Williams, AZ up to the GC, via the Ponderosa Pines and forest that are in the mountains surrounding the Southern Rim of the Grand Canyon. There are some surprises going up in the morning and on the return trip in the afternoon. A few of us will be cruising up in our PT's, so if you're up for a GREAT event, some laughs with some fun people and some more laughs afterwards.....come join the fun!! Be advised, it is $25 per car to drive into the park, unless you have an all access National Park card. The train ride is $65 + the $8 park fee (the $8 is waived if you have a National Parks card.). This IS an adventure, and not just a ride on any ol' train!!! Soft drinks and water are provided free. There WILL be a dinner, but it will NOT be a Zorro Ball, the theme has been changed. It will most likely be pay as you go, or be modified later. Also, the Riverside Hotel updated their rates to $35 on each night EXCEPT FRIDAY and SATURDAY night, which stayed $55. The $32 rate is NO longer available. They will honor the $35 rate for ONE additional night, before or after the event. If you get there early or stay longer than one day, the rate will increase to only $42!!! STILL the cheapest rate around, I know because I checked!! Thanks Riverside!!! Even if you're not sure whether you can make it not, this hotel is VERY busy, it sets RIGHT on the Colorado River and is very desirable.....so make your reservations now!! You can always cancel them, you can't expect to get this rate the day the show starts!! The regular rate is $52 and $79. Dave had some problems last week, having to go BACK to the hospital and go into ICU. He had some infections going on, and they had to watch him closely. BUT Dave's determination has been strong, and he's doing better. He probably won't be able to attend the River Run, but he's aware of much of what is going on behide the scenes of planning the event. Jan and the Staff are having meetings and getting Dave and Mara's okay on most of the plans. Many people, of several different groups, have come together and committed themselves to keep the PT River Run going and the same great event Dave created. The regiatration form is outdated, so a new form will be posted soon on www.ptriverrun.com and we'll post the linkl here, when Mara gets it done. Let it be known.....this event is, and will continue to be, a Dave Davidson Products event, and is being planned and executed in honor and friendship for Dave and Mara. I am jumping in and helping to get the word out, that the event is going to happen and will continue to be the same fun event as the past 4 years....which I am proud to do!!!
