Who told you about a V6 cruiser? Was the source reliable?
Of course, a inline 6 would require a bigger hood. ---------- Sincerely Yours, RailNut

Mother's put a 3.8 V6 from the Chrysler van into a Cruiser. I do not look for Chrysler to offer this V6. Maybe one of the newer V6s if they do a second generation Cruiser down the road.

I read that Chrysler considered a V-6 to give the PTC more power but decided to go with the new 2.4L turbo as a V-6 would not fit without making major design changes to the front-end which would compromise and detract from the retro-styling. Don't think a V-6 will be considered until the new design, which, I have read, is planned for 2006. ----------

"Chrysler has semi-officially announced that the PT Cruiser will be replaced in 2006 with a vehicle having a similar form on the next-generation small car platform, being jointly designed at the moment by Chrysler and Mitsubishi. (Word from inside the corporation is that this really is a joint effort, not a joke like the Stratus Coupe, which is merely a reskinned Eclipse.) The new vehicle is being designed to accommodate a V6 engine, and is likely to have a roadster version as well as the current small SUV/minivan/tall wagon. The base engine will most likely be the new "world engine," jointly designed by Chrysler, Mitsubishi, and Hyundai, and produced in the United States. The V6 may be the 2.7 (200 horsepower), but could also be a new "world" V6." http://www.ptcruizer.com/ ----------

Let's hope that the idea of replacing the PT goes the way of "New Coke"!
