I can't find even the crystal headlights. I must be blind. I did find these bad boys for about $800 shipped from UK.

I love those headlights!!! BUT, they are not legal here in the US. No amber reflector.....not to mention that is a lot of coin!!!

Re: [PTDaddy2] After Market Headlights Can't Post

I was wondering about the legallity here in the states. Any idea where to find what the law says exactly about this? Maybe there is a way to circumvent. Ever since we got our 1st PTC I pictured it with round head headlights. Making these work would would be like a dream come true (without having to do major body mods).

Re: [sent1] After Market Headlights Can't Post

I found this:

http://www.oregon.gov/...h_Equipment.shtml#11

11.) Are "Altezza" or European tail/brake light and front marker lenses legal for street use in Oregon?
Answer: Oregon has adopted the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lighting equipment. The standard is very specific for tail/brake light lenses and front side marker light lenses. The standard requires red lenses (not red bulbs) for the tail/brake lights and red rear and side reflex reflectors and red side marker lights. A separate rear side marker light and reflex reflector may also be allowed for the rear lighting system to meet the standard. The front side marker lens lights can be either white or amber (yellow) and must also have an amber (yellow) reflex reflector incorporated into the lens or have a separate side marker light and reflex reflector to meet the standard.
So, the answer to the question is in most cases after-market (non-original equipment) "Altezza" or European tail/brake and front marker light lenses are NOT legal for street use in Oregon. They usually lack the required reflex reflectors and side marker lights. Here is a link to a Web site with more information. http://fmvss108.tripod.com Note the "Recalls" section. Most all of the after-market "Altezza" and European lenses have been recalled for not meeting FMVSS 108. (ORS 816.010).

I am with you, I dig those headlights. I imagine you could use them if you put a amber reflector on the front fender somewhere like a side marker light....but the cost would keep me from buying them anyway..way too expensive..

Thanks for finding that info. FrownIf money was not an issue I most likely would find a way to make these work. Nobody said it can't go on a wish list. You never know what the future holds.Wave

I figured the price on those would come down, as I saw them about a year ago, but they are holding at that pretty high price,. They eventually will come down and I will pick some up too! They are def on my wish list..they are rally cool! Have you seen the tail lights that match? What do you think of them? I'm not sure if I like them or not

I'm not sure about those. I just got the LED taillights right after I got my DC1. I thought the LEDS were the best. They sure do look great on the DC1--At least I think so. Some might say they are too modern looking for the PTC. I say the best deserves the bestDance

Where did you find those? $800 is a bit steep, but who knows, maybe they will come down eventually.

Re: [PTPenguin] After Market Headlights Can't Post

While you are here looking, be sure to check the taillights made to match. As previously mentioned, be sure to consider the legal ramifications of purchasing and installing these here stateside. I know you still want to be able to drive your PTC with peace of mind without getting pulled over for a silly thing like not having a little side reflector.Outtahere
