Another "black" idea...

Ok, since I got the the black painted on JoeDreamer I thought the front lacked something. The painter had it Saturday to buff out the hood and he got another idea. He put some black tape on to help me visualize so naturally I took a couple of pics so I could get some feedback. One idea we are pondering is blacking out the verticles in the grill (which is not mocked up in the photos). We are pretty sure we will do that though. Anyway, here we go...

Sitting here looking at your pics, I was wondering what it would look like to paint your pillars the same color as the rest of the car, or paint some pillar covers and put them on. I'm heading to work shortly, or I'd mock it up in photoshop. ----------

Thought about that before; either gold or chrome. I don't think (at this point anyway) it would do the overall look any justice. However, it would be interesting to see a mock up of it done to be sure... ---------- DC1 #1610--5-speed. Its got some stuff. '03 Inferno Red--Its getting some stuff too!

The sides go well with the back because everything is at the same level. Since the front bumper sits higher than the rest, it seems a little odd to me. How about if you continued the lines on the sides to the front so from a side profile they would come to the front at the same level as the fog lights. Then in the front you could either: - go straight across the lower part of the grill
- or go straight to where the end of the air scoops by the fog lights but stop short of the grill
- or I think even better taper the line going across the front from both sides to a point below the lower tip of the grill - kind of a wide open V format
My 2 cents... Whatever you do, your PT rocks! PS: Personally I like the black windows and pillars the way they are - they work well with the black and gold motif - again my 2 cents... so now you almost have a nickel's worth. ---------- 2001 silver Limited-Touring (leather/suede, 4W disk, traction, heated mirrors & all :-) Mods: Tokico HP all around / Energy Suspension Master Kit / K&N drop-in / R1 Concepts drilled & slotte disks all around / Enkei RPF1 16x7 wheels & Conti Extreme Contact rubber / Prestige APS620 remote starter

Continuing the angle to the front was something we initially considered but decided to wait on that idea in "fear" that it would take away from the effect the black had on the back end. One of the best features in the body styling of the PTC is the front so we want to make sure what we do compliments it in the right way. This weekend we should be able to play with that idea to give it a fair eval before going to paint. Thanks for the input and kind words. You guys have a pretty good thing going too. Remember, part of my inspiration for JoeDreamer comes from people like you. ---------- DC1 #1610--5-speed. Its got some stuff. '03 Inferno Red--Its getting some stuff too!

I also painted the door handles and the front and rear emblems. I also had the door panels and all the handles and visor mount and everything on the ceiling that I could remove and the center console painted too. I took everything off and apart myself. Had one of the local body shops to paint them. If I remember it was about $700 for everything. Here is a link to more pictures of my PT. I have removed the little blue decals fasteners. http://picasaweb.google.com/gturb03/Renegadept ----------
