Armrests question?
|
Can't Post

|
hello, Just joined this user forum - as I am considering a PT Cruiser for my next car. Considering 2006-08 model, and any advice on what year from you experienced owners would be very much appreciated. Recently read somewhere online that for 2008, the armrests were removed/changed? It's not the major factor in deciding on a car; however, I am certainly used to two comfortable armrests while driving! Thanks for everyone's input!! ----------

Hi, 06-08 Crusiers have just the armrest on the center console. The top rest can be moved forward. The previous models had the armrests built into the seats, like a Captains chair. The can fold up or down and I believe they were located just on the one side on the seat. There is a lot of pros and cons with the re-style interior from 2006 and up. Some prefer it some dont. The seats are much harder,(which I like),the center console buttons are higher but we have that stupid towel bar above the glove box.LOL Best thing to do is to look and test drive and see which you prefer.. Good luck Mike ----------

The towel bar comes in handy for securing large things when you are carrying them in your cruiser. ----------

I like the center armrest in my '06. The fact that it slides out is very nice, too. It has two compartments beneath it - one that is rather shallow (I use it for my car's papers, a pen, etc), the other is deep and has a 12V socket. I store my portable Navi in it. ---------- Greetings from good ol' Europe, Rainer

I personally like the center console on my silver '07. The movable top is nice, but it makes it hard to get into the top storage compartment, when it is slid forward. I have long arms and drive with one elbow on the center console and the other on the door's arm rest. It is quite comfortable for me. I only wish I had a power port in my console. It would make it handier for charging my cell phone or Bluetooth device. I agree you should test drive one and see if it is comfortable for you.
