BTG Strut Tower Brace

Just finished the install, and took a test drive. It really seems to make a difference. The turn-ins are flatter, even with the stock suspension. Install was straight forward and it looks great.. ----------

It's surprising how much difference the brace makes, although I do feel the bumps in the road more. I'm attempting to upload some pics.... ----------

Can a non car dude do this? just remove the 3 nuts on top of the shock tower on each side, install the bracket, screw the nuts down till they slip in the grove, and the bracket can still move freely, Install the bar on the bracket and tighten the two nuts snug, say 15 LBS of torque, then tighten the 3 nuts on each brace to 20 LBS of torque. DO Not over tighten the nuts. It is that easy .

Thanks, reason I ask is I read somewhere that another component near the firewall needs to be removed when installing this item. If that is not the case then it sounds like an easy do. A nrmal socket wrench will do? My toruing drop top does not have the guts to take a tight turn and am hoping this will assist a bit. :-() ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.

If you spend the extra money for the Turbo version of the BTG bar, it comes with the Cruise control servo and solenoid relocation brackets. If you buy the less expensive non turbo version, (same exact bar for both), you do not get the two extra brackets, and you will need to make a new one or modify your existing stock one. ---------- '05 GT Dream Cruiser Series 4. I am having a problem with the bar rubbing the hood insulation at the points where the windshield washers mount. There are rub spots on the bar, and I'm getting a popping noise from unter the hood which I suspect is the bar moving against the insulation. Has anyone else experienced this? ----------

Yes, they will rub the stock factory insulation pad and you keep having to polish your bar , I had removed the factory pad on my DC4 because of this, (it is only there for engine noise dampingl) , and later I installed a stainless steel polished hood panel (mirror) and it cleared with no problems. ---------- '05 GT Dream Cruiser Series 4.
