My 2001 Limited does not have heated seats; the 2002 does. Is it possible to have this added? Would they just have to install some wiring in the seats, or would the entire seating setup have to be replaced? (You know, it gets so cold down here in Alabama. It's in the 60s today.) Brrrrrr! ----------

what color is the interior? Here is a set on ebay - they're even the ones with suede. here is another with a "buy it now" for $150. There are a couple of other sets on there as well, but if the color matches I'd buy the $150 ones now. "60s?!" ...I wish ...that'd be practically Summer around here ...it's in the 60s INSIDE our home. ---------- 2001 silver Limited-Touring (leather/suede, 4W disk, traction, heated mirrors & all :-) Mods: Tokico HP all around / Energy Suspension Master Kit / K&N drop-in / R1 Concepts drilled & slotte disks all around / Enkei RPF1 16x7 wheels & Conti Extreme Contact rubber / Prestige APS620 remote starter

at the temperature difference! Thanks for the info! My interior is gray, and I have the suede-and-leather seats. If I'm reading the description correctly, you have to replace the entire seats. I'm not exactly what you would call "handy," so this would be too big a project for me. Shipping is kind of a bear, too. *sigh I was kind of hoping that the dealership could retro-fit a wiring system in the seats. ----------

I was not saying that there was no kit that the dealer could install. I don't know if there is or isn't. I'm pretty sure that if there was such a kit it would be much more expensive than $150. Also I would think that changing the seats all together would be much easier than dealing with retro-fitting the heating elements, wiring, and the switch. So maybe others know if there is such a kit. All I was saying was that changing the whole seats is an option. I'm not sure if the dealer would do it for you, but if you have a mechanic it should be a fairly easy job for them. Good luck ---------- 2001 silver Limited-Touring (leather/suede, 4W disk, traction, heated mirrors & all :-) Mods: Tokico HP all around / Energy Suspension Master Kit / K&N drop-in / R1 Concepts drilled & slotte disks all around / Enkei RPF1 16x7 wheels & Conti Extreme Contact rubber / Prestige APS620 remote starter

seat heaters can be added to almost any car. If you do a web search there are many different heating elements available to retro fit into a non heated seat. here is one for Jegs: http://www.jegs.com/...0001_10002_119160_-1 ---------- Joel

I had a 2001 PT and installed an aftermarket seat heater myself. You can buy one of these kits for about $80.00. It was quite a job as you have to remove the seat and take off the upholstery and then wire into the fuse box. The switch was installed in the plastic base of the seat. It worked fine but took me an afternoon to do it. I traded the 2001 for a 2006 PT and decided to have the seat heater installed professionally. My dealer did not do that and referred me to a custom car store. They did a fine job and the cost was $249.00. It was worth it to me. I live in Montana and the heated seat is truly a comfort. Particularly since I commute 150 miles per day and the winter days are very cold.

Whoa! That definitely sounds like a bigger job than I can handle. But it sounds like it was a great investment for you, especially given where you live. Maybe I should save my $$$ for tinted front windows? ----------

Wow, with all this talk of cold weather, I had to go put another log on the fire while I ate my ice-cream. I don't think I need heated seats, though. I don't live way up north in Birmingham, like Hipcat. Terry ---------- Living Happily Ever After, Now and Then in Millbrook, AL.

I saw the forecast yesterday and brought in some extra firewood. I was up in Birmingham Saturday night and it was warmer up there than home. It might just get a little cold tonight. Terry ---------- Living Happily Ever After, Now and Then in Millbrook, AL.

I hate it that I missed y'all Saturday! I was going to drive by Cool Beans and say hi. But my sister had been in town the night before; we stayed up late, and then I did a ton of shopping Saturday morning. When I got home that afternoon, I fell asleep. ----------
