Some of the dealers will ask more because of the "demand". Stand your ground.... If they want a sale, they must deal.... Good Luck. ---------- Jack Smith (Smittys PT) Webmaster Colorado Cruiser Club

First check the Edmunds.com site and see what other people are paying currently for the model. Last time I checked, the price had dropped below MSRP as opposed to when I bought in May. I used the Costco new car program and paid the so-called "fleet price," which is the same as the dealer cost on the Edmunds site. You should be able to do better than that now. Good Luck and look forward to a lot of thumbs up as you drive around. ----------

I almost bought a base convertible today. My deal was 19,995 minus 3% off of invoice minus another 1000$ rebate. I got two dealerships to agree to that but the sticking point is my trade. One dealership was way off and the other one (I called right at closing) said they would consider meeting my trade asking price, which is very fair. This MAY happen tomorrow. I was surprised I could get one at this price. I'm keeping my fingers crossed :) ----------

Well it is nearing the end of the summer here up North and the convertibles are starting to back up on dealers lots so deals and rebates are just around the cornor I think. They have already made about 28,000 convertibles so the market is beginning to be saturated with them. Who would ever have thought that the sedan once not available at any price would now carry a 4,000 rebate to move them off the lots? If the dealer that youre working with really wants to move the metal and today IS the last day of the month a great day to buy they will sharpen their pencils so to speak to get you sold. Have a great day! ----------

Agh! The dealership decided against offering anything close to Kelly Blue book price. All is good though. I have decided to go ahead and sell my Jeep myself. Hopefully I'll be able to join you all soon. :) ----------

Well we bit the bullet, got a good deal on our trade, not much of a deal on the car, $1000 for financing with Chrysler and my wife is now the owner of a PT convertable. Three days into ownership and every time she has driven it the top was down. Thanks to all for your replies to our first post ----------
