Check out my new shift knob Can't Post

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to share a great mod for your PTs. I ordered a new shift knob that actually matches my car! It took about 3 weeks to receive but it was worth the wait! My son installed it for me in about an hour. Cool The only design flaw is that the wire that lights up the knob hangs on the outside. My son is going to remove my center console on my next day off and hide the wiring for me. He said it would be easy to do. In the meantime, I am enjoying the fact that my shift knob is blue and black and FINALLY the ugly white cue ball is gone!!

Happy Cruising everyone, Teddi Dance

Nice but @ 105$ for automatic, I'll pass.

And I don't personally think the ivory cue ball is that ugly.

Wow! I think that's awesome! I always thought those stock shift knobs needed something. I sanded and painted them on both PTCs. They look good, but got to hand it to you, not as good as those light-up knobs.

Re: [mikemcl] Check out my new shift knob Can't Post

My son changed the knobs in about 30 min. He said it was really easy, but he has not hooked up the lights yet. He wants to "hide" the wires, but has to take my center console out to do it. But I was told by someone else that I could just buy some tubing, that comes in many colors, and run the wires down the shaft and no one would see the wires. So I am going to go and buy some blue tubing and let him do it that way. He said it won't take him long to run the wiring. It is just a matter of letting him have my car long enough to do it. ROFL As far as I am concerned, it was well worth the money! Happy Cruisin, Teddi

Yeah but the feel of a flameball is awsome, the quality is something that the stocker can't compete with. I have a blue hair in my other PT that everyone who has ever driven it has commented that its a beautiful and super comfy feeling. Its a 5-seed version though.

And BlueHaze you can also use some metal/chrome pipe tape that you hide the wires with too. And run them on the front side of the gearshift more hidden. If the top button shifters still don't have a way to pass the wiring through the shifter. The old PT's you had to tape down the wires since there was no space or place to run them through the shifter.

Phssst! Looking for a 13.9 second pass in the 1/4 this year..
