If you read the article, is says that plant closures are going to happen at US plants - no mention of Toluca. BUT, does this mean they are going to be building other cars at Toluca, which will lessen the output of the PT? Any stats on how many PT's they will be putting out in the 2002 build year???

The Toluca plant will stay running 100 percent PT Cruisers for the next several years. I think you will see another plant open soon in the U.S. to increase production. Chrysler's Tom Gale said several months ago that they could have sold 500,000 PT Cruisers this year! No cuts in this program, and the one sure program to have more money spent on it, rather than cuts. Too bad Chrysler couldn't have increased production to take advantage of all the award publicity. Motor Trend Car of the Year, and now the North American International Auto Show Car of the Year at Detroit. Just think of all the PT Cruisers that would be rolling out the door if they just had some! Dean Inferno Red Tinted Pearl Coat PT Cruiser Limited Edition with 4-Speed Automatic Transmission, Dark Taupe Royale Leather Trim with Preferred Suede Accent Seats, 4-Wheel Anti-Lock Brakes, Am/FM Stereo Radio with Cassette and CD Players, Mopar Ground Effects Package. I wonder if Tom Gayle is still there with all the heads being chopped off lately. Besides, a lot of people who were going to buy cruisers and were turned away have a bad taste in there mouth by all of this, they will not be back. I think it is too late, they dropped the ball bigtime!
