Closed the Deal; update to "new buyer"

Yeah, I have to post an update, to update you all on my PT purchase, and am interested in any feedback, especially on the posed questions. Thanks in advance, I am currently out of the US driving a cheap Hyundai I got here in Seoul. Why am I in Seoul, well I and am Air Force. I am PCSing to England soon. Originally liked everything I saw on line about a couple convertibles. I found this site a few months back and was all the more anxious to see a PT Cruiser in person...no I don't live in a cave, but never sat in one and never seen a convertible on the road or in a parking lot. Not a common site in Cheyenne, which is where I was before Seoul. I was thinking about the Saab93 for some reason and the PT Cruiser. The Saab had a heftier price tag and really doesn't look all that sport. They have special deals for military folks in Korea where you can buy an 06. They have tons of Chrysler 300s, Dodges and other American cars in shop, but no PTs. I don't really understand why. But I liked all I saw on the internet about the car, the roominess for 4 yet small sized car, which is good in England. England cars are expensive... Anyway, they had a special deal for a new 07, which we know is not out yet, but price was based on estimate and you were locked into the price, unless it went lower. I also opted to do this because I can decline it at any time. So, I recently went on leave in May to my home in Wyoming to test drive these cars for the first time. My wife test drove them all before me and liked the Cruizer better than the Saab, Sebring, and Mustang. So I went to dealers in Cheyenne and Fort Collins, CO. I compared 05s and 06s. Found some 05 Touring's in Fort Collins, but in red, which my wife doesn't like and with 25K or so. In Cheyenne, I found a silver 05 GT Convertible with 8,400mi listed at 19,999. I talked them down to 17,000 after pondering over it for a week or so. I was ecstatic, I tell you what, the color I was most likely to decide on, leather was sweet, and price was way better than 07. If I can find it once, I can do it again...not sure if I will ever buy new... I am cancelling my 07 order, no problem. Still want to see what the 07 will look like. Its irritating how they make you wait for something that is already built. They have to show the 07 Sebring first, I guess... Anyway, yes I am ecstatic about it and am sad that I won't see the car till I get to England now... But wow, I was going in ready either way to be dissappointed or impressed with the car in general, but I have to say it looks way better in person, than any car I have seen. Can't believe I got a GT that low. It only has a few rock chips in the front. Turbo is sweet...that slight sound of turbo kicking in tickles me to death. What is that sound actually coming from, I'm no engine expert? What psi level in the tire, do you prefer to go with? I got 17" wheels... I really like the 05 inside and out over the 06. Course it is missing that tiny clock on the dash, but in a few years that idea will be so old, and does anybody really look at that when they can just look a foot down at the stereo's clock? Retro look, bye bye...that's all I got to say. I bought a nice California duster and my wife thinks I'm crazy to spend $20 on that. I go, oh and what about paying $6 on top of gas at the drive thru. If you don't have a duster for your car, get one today...it works great unless you just went through some mud, then you might have to wash that. Okay, now somebody help me here... I'm dead man if wife reads this post, but oh well, I have a 60/40 chance of her not seeing it because my post is so long, besides the point. So fellas, I noticed my wife is prone to close the door by the window...not just once...that is an expensive window, besides the fingerprints. Anyone experience this, or just me? I have another car that actually has a window that doesn't roll up... Okay...proof, well enough proof to win in Judy's court room. I saw another girl, a friend of mine do the same with her car. Do all women do this...? Guys, tell me, please... I know there are some women out there that don't do this, I'm not that shallow, but I think it is irritatingly funny. All you got to do is close the door by you know something more sturdy, such as the door. You don't see me closing the door to my house by pushing on the glass window that is at eye level. Heck I even find it easier not to raise my hand above my hips to close the door. Okay enuf of that... I tell you what she thinks me buying that car has made me an obsessed man. Maybe she's partially correct, but so am I. Cheers! Hope it is sunny where you live, today. ----------

Congratulations on your new PT! Good luck and safe travels with your PCS to England. I'm an Army Brat and miss the days of traveling around the world... although I don't miss hearing "clear quarters". BTW.... I don't use the window to close the door... that's what they make door handles for... Be sure to post pics! Becky ----------
