My new (slightly used) 05 dosen't have a cover boot. Are they part of the standard equipment (misplaced by my dealer) or is it an option.

It is an option, and also comes with a certain package, you can buy one from your dealer for $200.00 or but one on ebay, as everybody that does have one does't use them.

The only way to really know on the touring edition is to have the original window sticker or call DC and order one. I mean a copy of the original window sticker so you would know exactly what your car should have come with. You can do that now. All the GT's came with them standard.
