Cool Plate Mount Can't Post

Awhile back I talked about a guy out here that cut the front bumper and mounted the lic. plate under it and said I would try to get a picture to post. Well here goes
Look real close at the way it tucks under the bumper..COOL Also gets rid of the HOLES the dealer puts in the bumper

Skinhead,
Thanks! I saw a photo of this done somewhere and could never find it again. Thinking seriously about this front end treatment on "Ruby"

Any other photos you could come up with would be greatly appreciated

Hmmmm, what about loss of bumper protection (what little there is these days), and bumper strength. I got the front under-bumper mounting kit and think it looks great, without cutting up the bumper.

Hey, man! It's me, Chuey Vato Loco, man! I was doing some front bumper work on my lowrider Chebbie Impala, man. Later that day I was out cruising the 'hood and got pulled over by the cops, man. The cop walked around the car and then asked me where my front license plate was, man. I told him that it was on my front bumper, man. He walked to the front of the car and came back and asked where my front bumper was. I told him that it was home in my garage, man!

I like the way it looks.... I was thinking about the under the bumper bracket thats available out there. But it puts the plate too low. The bottom edge of the plate cannot be lower than 12 inches from the ground. But that in the bumper thing looks good.

Hmmmmmmm anyone know whop it is? Its a good looking PT too.

Good point Deborah...BUT...the main objective is to not hit anything. This would be all the more incentive. I just installed a $600 Stull billet grille. If I hit something, I doubt that the insurance company will go for a replacement? I am going to check next week to add coverage for my "upgrades."
I also want to add a PTeaser rolled rear pan. I also want to check on additional coverage on that.

Skinhead,
Do you have any information on this modification? What is used to fill in the underside where the bumper is cut away? Thanks, Pat

Sorry Pat I have been away. I have not got any info on the bumper mods, but the owner is Fred Bottcher of Oshawa and the Toronto Star did an article on his car back on JUNE 10th 2000 in the Wheels section. He said he did the bumper 6 hrs.after he got the car, with a reciprocating saw."Ouch" I hope he was only kiddng....

Thanks anyway. I guess I'll just have to take the idea and run with it. Under the plastic bumper, there just seems to be styrofoam. I can cut that away and then frame up the opening with either plastic or metal and then have the bumper painted.
Thank you again for posting the photo. I had seen it somewhere months ago and could never find it. It gives me something to work from.
