This is such great news, can't wait to have you guys in the Land of Enchantment!! Smile

I'll be there for sure, I've been trying to make one of these and an important wedding in Littleton on July 18th this year, kept me from Cruisin' the Rockies in 2005....I just couldn't swing going to both of them.

I'm already looking forward to having the CO Club down this way, see you next August!
You too Cruzbergs!!!! Wave

Hi Smitty!

My wife and I (sans Dillon -- poor guy never gets to travel with us -- perhaps we can make it to CTR VI so you can meet our Colorado miracle) were in the fine city of Denver last Friday and Sunday at DIA. We were going to visit friends in the Seattle/Tacoma area for the weekend and attend the Seattle International Auto Show.

I just noticed your CTR VI website has been updated with lodging info. Will there be an official host hotel with group rates?

Hope to see you in August.

Keep on Cruisin'!

Smitty - It's sounding great, as always. Sue and I are planning on coming again this year, and having a little change of pace to New Mexico sounds like fun! Glad to see a host hotel has been picked - I didn't see it on the site earlier, but now we know where to stay! Keep up the great work with your team - it's really a fun event to go to. Flag USA

Re: [SmittysPT] Cruise The Rockies VI Can't Post

PLEASE READ THIS

If you are even only thinking of coming to Cruise The Rockies then put your reservation in at one of the hotels in Red River now. You can always cancel if your plans change. The reason why I'm telling you this is because this is a very small town and it is a popular Summer mountain town. The hotels fill up fast so please put your reservations in now so you have a place to sleep. There are enough rooms available to cover us with 200 cars, but if other people that are coming for other reasons reserve ahead of you, you might be out of luck....and we don't want that. If you have any questions at all, please let us know......

Till we cruise again.... BE SAFEWave

Question regarding route to Red River. Shortest route would be through Montrose. What is the road like from Montrose to Gunnison then on to Saguache. The map shows mostly straight road from Saguache to Red River. May need three days travel.Flag USA

Correct on the shortest route being through Montrose. Hyw 50 from Montrose is a really good highway. Thats the way we came to CTR V from Denver. The route you have planned will work great. Don't take 550 South from Montrose unless you have lots of time. It is a awesome route but will take a very long time cause half of the trip will be at 10 mph because of the mountain roads. It was part of our main cruise last year. Enjoy your trip down and plan on lots of fun when you get to Red River.

Smitty -

Just wondering if you know if there are any RV places down that way... I'd be coming from Vegas, with 2 PTs, a Bounder and 3 dogs... Hence the RV... most hotels aren't exceptionally pet friendly, ya know?

Re: [SmittysPT] Cruise The Rockies VI Can't Post

Well, we plan to MAKE time to do that awesome Highway 550 again. The friends that came with us last year could not make the CTR the year before and we want them to see this gorgeous part of Colorado. That was the most incredible drive I've ever been on and we plan to take a whole day to do it so Jer can do some photography and just enjoy the drive. We will then spend the night in Durango (not too unhappy about having a bit of time there as well!!).

This trip is shaping up to be mighty fine!!!!!! Half the fun is the planning and anticipation!
