Cruise the Mississippi- May 19-21 Can't Post

How about a cruise right along the Mississippi River? Start with a couple historic sites in Prairie du Chien, WI. Villa Louis, the home of Wisconsin's first millionaire (In the 1800s, that meant a bit more). Fort Crawford Museum: What's left is part of the hospital building, restored, and now a museum. Also another building with much history of Prairie du Chien, including the immigrants that made it grow and flourish. Lunch will be at a restaurant in Prairie du Chien.

Of course, a cruise. From Prairie di Chien, we will cruise part of the Great River Road along the Mississippi River, to La Crosse. In La Crosse, we will board a paddlewheel boat and "cruise" right on the mighty Mississippi River. Watch for eagles, you will likely see at least one. It is a popular area for them.

Thirsty or hungry yet? Then, how about cruisin' to a drive-in with carhops on roller skates? Popular for their cruise night during the summer, Rudy's waitresses even don poodle skirts for that.

Feel like a riverboat gambler? After we drive back to Prairie du Chien, cross the Mississippi River by bridge, and you will find another paddlewheel boat, but this one is for gambling.

Details are still getting worked out, but mark your calendars, and watch the PTCC Wis site (wi.ptcruiserclub.org) for information, and a registration form as it is available. That should be soon.

If you are interested, please e-mail me, so I can get some idea of how many rooms I need to hold. I also
need to know if we have enough people to take in all that is mentioned above. If we get enough
people, the paddlewheel boat company will add an extra trip to make it possible. If we don't get enough
people, we will need to eliminate the stop at Fort Crawfor Museum. Thanks.

Smooth cruisin',
