Did I gGet A Good Deal???

I hope I did!! I just bought my first convertible. An elderly gentleman I work with posted a notice on the bulletin board, wanting to sell this car. Its a standard model, 2005 Vanilla Creme, black top, automatic, single cd player, upgraded wheels and tires and floor mats. It has 9200 miles and is spotless!! I bought it for $13,500. Ok, be honest, is that a decent price? I sure hope, because it's the cutest little car I've ever seen. ----------

Way to go!!! Of course it's a good price! Have you seen the price brand new? & it doesn't even have 15,000miles on it! & owned by an elderly, which I am sure did not put the metal to the petal! Now the real fun begins! Join your local PT Cruiser Club, you'll not have fun, but go places that is a total cruzin' blast! ---------- Crystal~ Life is like road trip & really sweet in a PT Cruiser! #1276

Welcome to the World of the Cruisers. I just did a search at KBB.com (Kelly Blue Book) and came up with a Private Party Sale value of $14,900 - based upon your description. That should leave you a bunch of money to spend to get some add-ons to make it truly YOURS. Enjoy! ----------

Congratulations on your new PT! Wow, I think you got a good deal! The best place to start is go to a PT Event near you and look around at all the neat modifications folks have made from mild to wild to give yourself some ideas and go from there. I also have the cool vanilla convertible (but with taupe ragtop) and love it! I hope your baby gives you many miles of smiles! Becky ----------

Quote: I have been reading these boards for a while now, and have learned alot about all of the things you can do to these little cars, but where do you start? I have so much to do! lcb, I agree with Miss B -- see if you can find a PT event in your area. You don't list an address in your Profile, but is there a PT Club in your city? Perhaps you need to find any type of a car gathering in your local area - surely there will be a PT or two to look at. There is a ton of information and ideas here on this Forum -- and there are several other Forum out there to surf through. Thers is a ton of goodies out there for our Cruisers. Would you like stripes, flames, graphics, or woodgrain to set you apart? Do you identify with Bonnie and Clyde? Try one of the Fedora hats and some bullet-hole decals from one of the vendors on this site. Maybe you are the 'fuzzy dice from the mirror type'. Into "Bling"? - there is a chrome plated replacement for almost every part on a PT - interior, exterior, and under the hood. Got something you are really big on? There are vendors who will make up a license plate frame with "I (heart) My Salamander", or "I Brake For Unicorns". Want more noise? try a new exhaust system and/or a new air intake system. Is performance your thing? There are all kinds of performance upgrades from Turbos, Superchargers, Computer chip replacements, and so on for the engine if you want to go fast, and all kind of suspension parts if you want to go around cbrners fast. We are a lucky bunch. A bunch of companies are making a lot of products to help us make our PT's reflect our wishes, desires, tastes, and personalities. There are over a million of these little cars out there doing what their Master's wish. Some have more modifications and accessories that you can list. I've even heard a rumor that there a couple of them that are still almost stock -- the only modification being a Kleenex box stuffed down between the seats. It's like a blank canvas -- YOU are the artist --paint it the way YOU want. ----------

It all starts about with a couple of things to personalize your ride and soon you are as addicted as we are. Enjoy the new ride and BE SAFE . Start by looking at the store here at PTCC, go to some PT events to see in person what you can do, and get ready to bitten by the mod bug. Once it starts........ its all over but the fun. I was off work all day Thurday & at about 1:00pm I got a wild hair to go "test drive" a beautiful Black GT Convertible. I had a blast I even went & picked up 3 of my friends & we put 91 miles on it cruzin' around the interstate, I think the drive & turning radius was much better than my DCS#3. The only draw back is the trunk storage & the rearseat space. Only two people can fit in the back & the new price $31.000...woo,woo. It has everything my DCS#3 has except the roll down top. That felt so good to Cruz around & feel the wind. Oh well, I am still "thinking", it was defintaely a great ride!!!! ---------- Crystal~ Life is like road trip & really sweet in a PT Cruiser! #1276

Okay Silver Eagle, it is a bit pricey! Of course it is a brand spakin' new "05 GT Turbo Cruiser with allllllll the fine trimmins!! I told Danny that was a bit too pricey, they said they would take of $3500, but the very interesting thing is, he is getting another same exact Black "05 GT Convertible tomorrow & it has 5000 miles on it & said that he would sell it for $19,500, that sounds way better than $31,000 even with the $3500 rebate, so I will be diving that around tomorrow, but of course I am very fond of my first love DCS#3, which has everything & it will be paid off in 2 1/2 yrs.... humph that sounds even better, who knows what I'll do, but first I have to make it to the Rally in OK this weekend before I make any decisions! ---------- Crystal~ Life is like road trip & really sweet in a PT Cruiser! #1276

If you look at the very first post it says that the price was $13,500 ,that's a very good price. $31,000 for an 05 is overboard. I paid $18,200 for an 06 PT convertible with the employee Discount this past January. With most of the goodies. The only think it didn't have was Leather seat, Cruise control, and a Turbo. That is the way that I wanted it. ---------- big jim
