Usually the differences are as follows. The base model does not have cruise control, rear shelf, power mirrors, aux dome light and cigarette plug, sunroof, security alarm, and sometimes air conditioning. The Touring usually has all this and the EVIC (compass, outside temp, MPG, coolant temp, etc.). The touring may also come with fog lights and rims. One important difference for 2008 is that the Street Cruiser Series 3 : Sunset Boulevard Edition is based on the standard PT and comes with loads of extras. This is for the 2006 and older models, I do not know what has changed for 2007-2008. Try going to www.chrysler.com and compare or find a site like www.vehix.com and research on the two specific models. These are also great websites that post changes in the PT. http://richweb.allpar.net/ptcruiser.htm http://www.ptcruizer.com/index.html ----------

The Touring edition's upgrades were different on the sedans and convertibles and from what I saw sometimes varied from year-to-year. The now discontinued 08 convertible came just as a "standard" model - no "Touring" badges on it - but some of the paperwork I received with my 08 drop-top did call it a touring model. The standard equipment list was so complete that I just added the anti-lock brake package when I ordered it. One other thing I noticed was that the "Touring" model did not always come with the touring suspension! ---------- 2008 PT Cruiser Conv 5-sp
