Do you honk and wave at other PT Cruisers you pass on the road?

On our Christmas travels up north, we happened to pass a PT Cruiser headed the same direction. I went to honk the horn and wave, but I was past him before I got my hands untangled from the steering wheel! ;-)Which brings this question to mind... Do you have a tendency to honk/wave/acknowledge other PT owners when you meet/pass on the road? Tom P.S. - If the owner of a Patriot Blue PT that was in a multi-car fender-bender just south of Seattle on December 22 is in here, my heart goes out to you. Having passed that accident on our way up to Seattle, I could imagine how you must feel... ;-(

I just came back from a trip to Sarasota, Florida. I did not see a single PT until I got to Florida. One PT driver flashed his fog lights on Interstate 95. Only one PT driver waved back to me the whole week I was in Florida and I saw a lot of PT's in Florida. In Va. other PT driver's usally do wave. Maybe there are too many PT's in Florida. I must have seen around 20 in a week. I don't think I've seen 20 in the last year in Va.

I always flash my lights at oncoming PTs! This yule tide while returning from Mass, I was part of a three PT caravan! There was a Patriot Blue eith VA plates, a Cranberry with VA plates, and my wife and me in a Black pt. We traveled south on 95 early Tuesday morning. When one of the PTs left the caravan, the driver flashed either emergency flashers, or head lights to let the others know it was leaving. This made our trip home very special.

I can confirm the "Florida abundance" of PT Cruisers... We were down there on vacation in early December. They were ALL OVER the place. Turns out that they are very popular rental cars down there....My guess is that people renting the PT don't have the same "pride of ownership" that we do, and as a result don't/wouldn't return a honk/wave/light flash... Whenever I see a PT, which is still not alot, I always wave or give a thumbs up. I can say, for the last half dozen or so, have never acknowledged or waved back. That's why I like the meets so much - everybody is more friendlier and outgoing.

Wave, flash and beep. If they don't respond the first time, wait til you see em again... Embarrass them, they'll have no choice. Being friendly can be contagious. Cheers

I usually either wave or flash. No honking though. Now am I supposed to wave with my middle finger, or was it two fingers? I can't remember. ...and the flashing, should it be with my lights? Sometimes people respond, sometimes they don't. I find with me, many tiems I miss them and my daughter points them out, too late to flash though. ------------------ Happy Cruisin' Trevor. Hoochie Mama Red, LTD, Auto, ABS, CD, Power Moonroof. Ordered 3/16, Ship 4/25, arrived in Calgary 5/10, Officially Cruisin' in Lola since 5/24/00. ...and a proud PTCC Member since Apr-00

I'm at 50% response after two days of ownership... Yesterday, driving back from Key West Dealership, waved at an Inferno - no response, probably a rental. Today in Marathon, a Patriot Blue got her hand waving before I did! Looked like a South Carolina plate. As Fatboy said, being friendly can be contagious!Dave

have only seen a few always wave and give a thumbs up...over the holidays there were 2 at a neighbors house I went over and put one of the PTCC business cards on each. Got the cards with a clubstore purchase they tell about the club and say "Your pt cruiser has been sighted by a member of the PT Cruiser Club. We have alot of fun. You are invited to join the club" etc. etc.

Hey Capt Pat........we GOT one of those cards but we're up in Virginia Minnesota.Who WERE you mister? Our PT was in for a free oil change and you gave a card to my husband. And to answer the question we ALWAYS wave and one day I found myself plastered against the windshield while another cruiser was doing the same! We were just SO excited to see one another we almost jumped THRU the windshield. Very cool..... Our wave is the double armed one. You know the one.....you LOOK like a maniac waving frantically about trying and HOPING to catch the attention of the other PT driver.

Two months on the road with our baby and still to see another one on the road. Seen two parked in shopping centres, but not one driving yet. Have no idea how I'll react when I do see one, but it will probably take a few days for the excitement to calm!!!
