Door Signs Can't Post

Has anyone bought any of those magnetic signs for your car doors that you can advertise your business on I need to do some more advertising and thought those would be nice because you can take them off. I have the window decals but those are permanet and don't want them when I go to meets and cruisesWink Thanks

I have some I use for REACT events. They are fine around town but I don't know that I trust them at highway speeds. If you can get them to lay absolutely flat so hat no air can get under them, they might work at highway speeds okay. Also, depending on where you live, they will work a lot better in the warm months than in the cold ones where they will stiffen up quite a bit, or at least the ones we use do. Also, another member left them on his vehicle while parked in a downtown parking garage. When he came back, someone had stolen them.

In some states like here in Tennessee the motor vehicle authority says that if you have advertisement on the side even magnetic you have to have commercial plates. Might want to check on that.

Re: [garyerrol] Door Signs Can't Post

I can't say for ALL of them, but a former employer sent us out of town for work occasionally, and we put them on our rentals. I know they're good for at least occasional use at 70-75. Not that anyone I know ever drove a work rental at those speeds... :P

Re: [anoldhippy] Door Signs Can't Post

I'm sure that if your door and the back of the sign aren't clean, they certainly would. We didn't pay much attention while I was on the road, since they were just rentals. I personally would be very cautious with them, making sure the aforementioned surfaces were clean, and making sure I gave those spots on the doors some extra love when it came to wash and wax time.
I do recall that my magnetic CB antenna on one of my cars ages ago did rough up that spot on my roof quite a bit. But I wasnt as particular then, and those mast magnets have a hell of a lot more grip than the signs do.
I'd suggest just being careful, and the extra TLC on the wash and wax.
