Effects on the Convertible Top

I have had my top down almost all summer (fortunately have a garage and a truck for rainy days) Question: is there anything detrimental with keeping the top down consistently? ----------

I would think over time you will get some creases showing in the top. I only leave mine down for a about a week and then put it up over night in the garage. The only other thing is your interior gets real dirty the longer you have the top down. ----------

I'd be worried about the black widows and other pests that could be in the garage making their way into my car... I don't even leave the windows down when I'm parked in or out of the garage. Just call me paranoid... Then there's dust that's going to get into the car. I guess that mostly blows out again once you start moving though. ---------- 2005 Bright Silver Convertible, 5 speed with 8 ball knob, chrome door spears, chrome gas cap door, chrome antenna bezel, chrome grill kit, chrome rear bumper pillows, chrome bumper trim, stainless antenna with flames, stainless door panel trim, chrome smoothies with baby moons, 2" wide "gangster" white walls, chrome tail light trim, K&N air filter element in a modified airbox and an oogah horn. Hmmm, what have I forgotten???

One easy way to solve the dirt and dust problem is to do what I have done and have a full toneau made. ----------

You can not get a full toneau cover from anyone like the one I have. It covers the whole car from the windshield to the boot with a zipper down the middle that allows you to just open the drivers compartment. A toneau like this is the kind you used to see on sports cars. Mine cost $1,200 and is custom made. If you'd like to see what it looks like give my your e-mail and I will send some photos of it. ----------

I usually keep the top up at nights, have left it open in the garage 2x before, seems with a convertible you must clean out the interior alot, especially in the fall when junk is falling. Remember it is a car, the top is going to degrade no matter what, as will the rest of the thing, so just enjoy it! ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.
