Hi Guys, got a question. Leaving my brothers house last night I had a problem that never happened before and it's an "01" with 121,000 miles on it. When I started to accelerate my PT bogged down and almost stalled. I put it in neutral and revved the engine and the rpms came back up, but the inside of the car filled with strong gas fumes. I drove home 50 miles with the car driving like new. I was wondering if I'm looking at a potential problem coming at me. Put new wires, plugs, pcv valve, egr valve and air filter in the last 6 months. I either want to fix it or not worry about it. Thanks ---------- If it's gonna happen - it's gonna happen out there.

May have been a "one time" thing. Just watch to see if it happens again. Could have been a stuck injector ?? Did the check engine light come on ?? ---------- Jack Smith (Smittys PT) Webmaster Colorado Cruiser Club

Thanks for your replys. The engine light didn't come on, but I haven't checked the fuel lines yet. Had to run some errands today and it ran fine. Yesterday when it happened, it smelled like a lit match would've blown the car up and today it wasn't there. I'll check under the hood tomorrow, Thanks again. Hey Ron glad you going to Bama! ---------- If it's gonna happen - it's gonna happen out there.

This is just an update. After a few more problems with gas fumes and stalling, I filled the tank and poured a bottlel of Lucas cyl.lube and fuel injector cleaner in it and by the time I needed to refill the tank it was running like new again. ---------- If it's gonna happen - it's gonna happen out there.
