 The California Cruiser was a Concept PT built in 2002 and shown at Cruise the Falls 3 in Ontario Canada.It had a full retractable glass roof and a # of design elements that were dropped into the 2006 redesign.It was never put into production.Mike

This is not really a "California" Cruiser. It is just an '07 PCH. The sticker on the back was added by the dealer or the owner.

The badges pictured in this thread are from the "Pacific Coast Highway" edition PT not the "California Cruiser."

That is nothing more than a sticker added by the dealer or owner.It is a Pacific Coast highway Edition PT.As you can see from the previous post with pictures,the "California Cruiser" was a rather impressive PT variant and when I sat in it I was so hoping it would go into production because i would have bought it in a heartbeat.God Bless.......Mike

Thanks for the article. I have never seen that model. Was it produced in Mexico only?

..... and, you all are correct! This is not a California Cruiser or even a PCH Cruiser, it's a 2005 Touring Edition that was slowly transformed into a PCH Cruiser with the California emblem placed on it. This is the PT Cruiser that I purchased for my wife back in 2005. Her being a California Gal, when she passed on last year... I decided to do this version in her honor when I came across the emblems. I think she would be proud, I hope?
It sure has turned several heads though!

I'm not sure which model you mean. If you mean the California Cruiser, as Mike has already said, it was only a concept car that never went into production. 
As for the Pacific Coast Highway model, I'm sure there are a lot of folks on this forum that know a LOT more about it than I do. Whatever I know is "book learning" from whatever google turns up on the topic.
Here is a section of the Wikipedia on the PT Cruiser that talks about this edition:

Oh, OK. I guess I missed that part, lol. So the photo is of a prototype and the California Cruiser was just a concept then? WOW, it sure looks cool and I think Chrysler would have made a bundle if they had run a production line on that model.

Hi Bo It was a Concept PT, a one of that was highlighted at the Paris Auto Show in 2002.In the early days of the PT Chrysler would sponsor events such as Cruise The Falls in Ontario Canada and take all the concept PTs and let us see, feel, and touch them.The Pronto Cruiser and the California Cruiser were my personal favorites and as I said before when Miss CRN was a plain jane I had my mind made up if the California Cruiser did make production it was MINE .But as time went on Chrysler forgot about us,did nothing to improve or expand the line ,and left us with broken promises and the hidious 06 redesign.Just for grins and giggles click on my webshots link and go into the Cruise The Falls 2003 pictures.It was my first and by far largest PT event,625 Cruisers from 40 states and 5 Canadian Provinces......Peace Out,God Bless,and Merry Christmas......Mike

There was a Concept California Cruiser, AND a limited production Cali Cruiser. The limited production version, which has the emblem, was built in '03 and sold only in Cali. They only made 700. They came with the spoiler, the CD changer, I think the subwoofer, chrome rims, and maybe something else, can't remember. I was going to get a red one, and then I got the Dream Cruiser 2 instead. I wanted to get the emblem too, but the dealer told me even they couldn't get it.
I've seen some red ones, a black one, and a silver one. Not too many around.
