3 cars from Pennsylvania joined twenty cars belonging to the North Coast PT Cruisers on a fine fall day, for a fantastic family funfest. A total of 23 cars with over 60 people (and one dog) made it to Veteran's Park in Mentor, Ohio. The weather was nice until it started to rain, but that did nothing to diminish the enjoyment of being together. Some of the folks wore costumes to suit the occasion, while others came right from church in their Sunday finest.
The Fabulous (HiYo) Silver, Man !! Was on hand to spin the oldies platters for us, and did his usual OUTSTANDING JOB. Thanx Brad !! He even played (as promised) one country and western song.
Cars were dissertated for the occasion, and Jack and Caroly N. won the first prize (gift certificate good for one embroidery - courtesy of Sara Neumore) for the best car decoration.
Everyone brought some food to share and no one went away hungry, (especially since Emerson M. was not there). There was a nice fire in the fireplace, and we made s'mores for the little kids (and some big ones too).
There was coffee and hot chocolate, as well as hot (and cold) cider. Everyone brought a can of soup, and a large soup pot was sommering throughout the afternoon. The soup pot became an instant hit when the cold front came through and everyone needed something to warm up a bit.
Seem like everyone had a good time....and all promised to do it again NEXT YEAR !!
