Chrysler LLC has stopped production on the Convertible. They were produced from 04 to 08, so there are some good buys out there. so get them while you can before the used car segment catches on and starts marking them up ---------- http://community.webshots.com/user/davidrs100

Is this good? I mean resale value wise? Only 4 years is kind of embarassing.... But the Commander is still being produced as well as the Compass. Nobody likes those! The main problem with the PT is too many people think they are junk and ugly until they get in mine. It always changes their minds. It had a good run! ----------

It makes the Convertible more of a collector car faster. but I don't expect that to come into play for at least 10 years. The 05 Dream will be at the top of the list. ---------- http://community.webshots.com/user/davidrs100

Yes, the 05 Dream in Lava Red...I want to get that one. But all the 05''s will be a little special when compared to the 06-08's as the body changed in 06 and on. ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.

I love my '05 Dream4 and plan on keeping it, but I always thought it might be a collectible some day as it is: 1.) a Dream Cruiser Series 4 (last of the Dream Cruisers) 2.) First year for the convertible 3.) The only year convertible with the original PT front end and interior 4.) the most expensive production non-special order PT Cruiser ever made with a window sticker at just over $31,000.00 (although I did not pay that much) I will probably leave it to one of my Grandsons. ---------- '05 GT Dream Cruiser Series 4. Also as you said under another thread: Quote: First to go 1 GT 2. Convertible what is next ?? It's a pity when something as cool as the PT keeps getting diluted over year after year. To your list I'd add heated mirrors, suede on the seats, lights in the window buttons, the classic lower grill below the bumper, traction control? (I don't see it on the options list any longer). So should they continue to build PTCs beyond 2010, "what is next" is a PTC that is so watered down that is questionably worth having... and that's what I was trying to say. Of course all that was IMHO. ---------- 2001 silver Limited-Touring (leather/suede, 4W disk, traction, heated mirrors & all :-) Mods: Tokico HP all around / Energy Suspension Master Kit / K&N drop-in / R1 Concepts drilled & slotte disks all around / Enkei RPF1 16x7 wheels & Conti Extreme Contact rubber / Prestige APS620 remote starter

It even got so bad that some PT's did not come with the rear shelf, and a cassette player instead of the CD. I think that if chrysler used the 06-08 headlights on the 01-05 front bumper like the Cali Cruzer it would help sell the PT. What changes do you think would help sell the PT??? ---------- http://community.webshots.com/user/davidrs100

The creation of an SRT8 PT will venomize and energize, then crystallize the PT as a true sports vehicle rather than the fun cruiser that we all love. This version will give it a shot in the arm! Build it you new Chrysler CEO of the month! Does anyone remember that V10 model someone created a ways back? ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.

I think that if chrysler used the 06-08 headlights on the 01-05 front bumper like the Cali Cruzer it would help sell the PT. What changes do you think would help sell the PT??? Those were not exactly my words, but whoever said them, yes I pretty much agree with them. As for what would generate more PT sales, first I'm not sure I am the right person to answer that because it seems what I might think sells obviously does not! Having owned an '01 LE for the past three years I am absolutely positive that our next PT HAS TO be a turbo, yet I guess most people have not voted with their wallets that the extra power is worth having. Having said that, since you asked, I'll just say what would make the PT more appealing for me. - The body could use a face lift. Something along the lines of what was posted under the other thread would be nice.
But I don't think it should be a 2 door. I think the PT is pretty unbeatable as a small, versatile wagon so keep it a 4 (5) door. - I think if they somehow stretched the car a bit and provided more cargo room behind the back seat it would be a good thing - OK so this needs to be done tastefully in order to stay true to the original styling of the car.
- Use better materials inside.
- Work on reliability - control arm bushings...
- I still say more power is a good thing
- Supposedly they improved the gas mileage so if people are getting high 20s that's good, otherwise improve that.
- Don't skip the details and think no one notices - the heated mirrors, the suede, the lighted buttons...
But that's just my take on it. The real question is what the masses want and are willing to spend their hard-earned money on. Ultimately the consumer $$$ is what Chrysler LLS is going to listen to and they have people they pay big $$$ to do the market research to find out what people want. ---------- 2001 silver Limited-Touring (leather/suede, 4W disk, traction, heated mirrors & all :-) Mods: Tokico HP all around / Energy Suspension Master Kit / K&N drop-in / R1 Concepts drilled & slotte disks all around / Enkei RPF1 16x7 wheels & Conti Extreme Contact rubber / Prestige APS620 remote starter

That sounds good until you go to service that v8... that is if it fit in there at all. As is with the little 2.4 in there you have to remove a drive shaft just to get the alternator out, and you have to remove body pannels, discharge the A/C, disconnect the exshaust, and lift the engine to do a timing belt... A tuned SRT-4 would be plenty. ---------- 2001 silver Limited-Touring (leather/suede, 4W disk, traction, heated mirrors & all :-) Mods: Tokico HP all around / Energy Suspension Master Kit / K&N drop-in / R1 Concepts drilled & slotte disks all around / Enkei RPF1 16x7 wheels & Conti Extreme Contact rubber / Prestige APS620 remote starter
