I've got the HID set-up as well but have been afraid to install it because I have been hearing nothing but bad things about it. Things like wiring melting, electrical problems, etc... ---------- "Just Cruisin' Lite."

I recently spent some time researching HID conversion for one of my other cars, and found the best to be a kit manufactured by the Florida company Xenonworx. Had it installed by my car electrician last week and it works perfectly, including no overheating or wiring problems. As I understand it, some earlier conversion kits were more jerryrigged, requiring resistors/heat sinks that could indeed overheat/melt. Also there were some reports from these older kits of "check engine" lights coming on, etc. According to the sales point (in this case Stangmods.com), all of these older problems have been eliminated in the current Xenonworx kit. Today I have asked my electrician, who is going to deal in the Xenonworx line himself, to contact the company and see if they have a kit for the 2003 PTC. If so I plan to order one and have it installed, and will update this thread accordingly. The change to the Mustang is phenomenal. The headlights are about 2-3 times brighter than the original halogens in both low and high beam. These kits are dual, by the way; switching to high beams causes a mechanical shield on the bulb to move slightly, giving you the high-beam effect. So it is not the old arrangement of HID-lower, halogen-higher. Updates to come. Today is Friday 5/9; I expect to know more on Monday. Michael
