Sheesh Gal....I hope you didn't miss the T-Bird boat! Too rich for my blood but she's really sweet, especially the baby blue one.  ------------------

The spokesperson at the D.C. Auto Show said they would be available in July as a 2002 model, so I guess if you want one, it's time to get in line. Hope you make the cut!HAHA

Brenda, this is what you do. Find out which Ford dealership sells the most cars west of the Mississippi, then confirm their allocation in Detroit. If they are legit put down an order. What do you mean their selling it for $12,000 over M$RP?! But Miss, they've got the allocation. What do you mean they want a $5000 down payment in cash?! What do you mean they want another $1000 for the incredible looking red?! Test drive it? You gotta be kidding! They'll let you do a virtual ride, though. Get in line...AGAIN! Good luck!! thegooners (man, I'd love to have that car. Go real nice next to my future PT Silver).

About a month ago, when I thought I wouldn't make the cut for the 2001 Cruiser, I called a local Ford dealer - just out of curiosity. He said that they would be alotted 10-15 cars. They already had 75 people on their waiting list.
They had the Neiman Marcus (silver and black) Special Edition at the Orange County Auto Show. They said that it had sold out in 2 hrs. or 20 minutes - no sure which - heard both. The Neiman Marcus car was incredible, the front almost looked like an early Corvette (and 55-57 T-bird).

Thanks everyone for the great info. It sounds like the T-Bird might be harder to get than a PT. Will go do some wheeling and dealing at my local Ford dealer and see what they say. Will keep you all posted!

I talked to a guy (driving a vintage T-Bird) last June and he said he had a deposit down on one at his dealer, so that when the order date came up, his name would be first in. He was still not confident that he'd get one.He said that there was maybe 2,000 coming to Canada. Not alot. ------------------

In addition to being a DC Dealer ,my cousin is also a Ford dealer.
He was told by the factory that each dealer will get 1 initially and after each dealer gets his /hers first there will be an allocation program set up.
But they cautioned dealers that they will be in very limited supply.------------------
