Greetings PT Cruisers,
Just a reminder that Highway 99 registration is going up to $50 beginning September 16th. The registration is still $40.00 with postmarks before the 15th, which is a good price for a 3 day event.
The theme is patriotic and there will be a category for that class.
Johnny D is bringing 23 PTs and 2 motor homes so we hope to see some of the other groups from Southern California as well. They were able to get a good rate at the Red Lion, and the Clarion also is giving groups a good price.
There will be a lot of activities for families in the PT Corral on Saturday and Sunday morning - Bingo, hula hoops, carnival games, to name just a few. We plan to have a lot to do. The PTs will also have a special patriotic goodie bag, given to you at the fairgrounds.
The entertainment for HWY 99 is going to be exciting for all participants. After the National Anthem on Saturday, we will have John Harmon and his Harmon rockets honor us with a fly-over of their "Hot Rod" aircraft. At noon, we have a tribute to our Military planned with patriotic music, guests, and a WWII Fly over from a group stationed at March Field in Riverside. Hopefully, at 3PM we will have our final aerial tribute to our military with a flight of F-18s. This is tentative however due to our current security situation, so keep your fingers crossed. In addition, Cindy Williams and Paul LaMat from Americal Grafitti will also be there.
Rather 10 merchant trophies as we had last year, we will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each category plus Theme and Best in Show.
Many of us will be seeing you at the Cruisin' for a Cure, and the show in Paso Robles. We are also looking forward to seeing you in Bakersfield. It should be a good show.
