How Do You Drive Yours?

Just wondering how fellow (and lady ) Cruiser owners drive their cars. Mostly highway, mostly city, what combo of each? Are you a "sporting" driver, or more leisurely? When you launch from a stop, what do the revs jump up to (if they jump up, that is ). Do you like to get ahead of the pack, or are you content to cruise along at the rear? If another driver does something dopey (like cut you off, tailgate, etc.), do you just ignore 'em, or react in some way? What habit do you have, which you wish you didn't have?? Happy motoring! ----------

Hi, I am sort of conservative when I drive my PT. I worry about wearing it out before it's time. 1) I drive a combination of city and highway. 2) I am more of a leisurely driver unless I feel 'sporty'. (Around here you must always be ready to either floor it or slam on the brakes.) 3) From a stop sign I usually take off around 2500-3000 RPM's unless I need to win somebody to another lane then they go up to about 4000 RPM's 4) I like to cruise in the rear unless I am in a hurry. 5) I got used to idiot drivers a long time ago, so I usually keep it to myself. 6)I have not noticed any 'habits'. Great post. ----------

Thanks Leocruiser. FWIW, I probably drive "low and slow" more than anything. Don't usually leave a turn signal on, unless the radio is playing too loud to hear it clicking. My worst habit seems to be making my wife nervous when she's sitting in the passenger seat. Not sure why, tho... ----------

I am pretty much a leisurly driver. Put on the cruise control, sit back and relax! i used to do alot of highway driving, but now it is more city driving. I still use the cruise control when I can around town. I drive with the radio on loud enough to drown out my bad singing -- with the top down only after the sun goes down, otherwise it is just too hot! and even then I sometimes put the a/c on with the top down, lol. best of both worlds!! lots of bad drivers here in florida. mostly tourists who don't know where they are going and rubberneck trying to find their destination. i have learned to live with this and just laugh at them and wait for them to decide exactly where they are gonna turn, since they turned on their turn signal 20 miles back. or those that never use the turn signal and turn across 3 lanes of traffic to get to the disney exit at the last minute. overall I would say I am pretty easy going and laid back on the highway. ---------- Life is just one long Cruise! I guess you could say I'm a leisure driver now that I'm retired. My town isn't that large so, I only put about 200 miles a month on my car. I just sold the old F-250 so, it may gather a bit more mileage each month. I would have to say that 95% of my driving is city vs. highway. I'm a careful driver and usually am never in a hurry to get anywhere. Once I smoked the tires on take off but, that was just to see what it was capable of and the road was wet anyway, lol. Mine's an automatic so it don't get froggy like you guys with the stick shift. Yep, it's a cruiser and I just cruise! ---------- "Just Cruisin' Lite."

Here in Cedar Hill, MO it's a long drive to just about anywhere. The closest Wally World is about a half hour up Hwy. 30. The only thing close is the local Save-a-lot and Dollar General. So most of my driving is long highway cruises. (which suit me just fine! ) ----------
