How rare are Seamist Green PT Cruisers? Can't Post

ANSWER: Very rare!

FACTS: According to Daimler-Chrysler, a total of 1857 PT Cruisers were manufactured in the 2004 model year in Bright Seamist Green Metallic
. Of those, only 146 GT models were made! After only a few months of production, this new 2004 color was discontinued for "unknown reasons".

Cool Have only seen one Celebrity Siting here in Edmonton (non GT). Didn't look anywhere near as good as yours.

Just think, 30 years from now when you're selling it for $150,000 as an all original, you can advertise it as 1 of 146 made!!! Cool
Will Orca go with it Question

I didn't care for this new 2004 color when I first saw pictures posted on the Internet. But after I saw it "for real" Cool that all changed. Dance In order to fully appreciate this stunning paint color you need to see it in sunlight. Bright Seamist Green Metallic has lots of metal-flake in the paint. Cheers People tell me it looks like a "show car custom paint-color" and are surprised to learn it is a stock color that has been discontinued.

The reason has to be the cost of the paint.
Heavy metal flake, very close to the show style flake of the 60's....

Gotta love it....

Now Gary the real trick is to see if you can hang on to it for 30years..... Although I don't have a GT mine will be in the driveway. Well, if I last that long.

CoolAnswer is quite rare. There is a 04 Touring Edition PT on a dealer lot in VT which I would buy in a second, but I know I couldn't trade in my beloved,modded,MS.CRN.She is a Black Limited Edition with 21k on her and set up to my liking and paid for.It was hard cause green is my favorite color

My thinking exactly. It is interesting to note that there is an extra-charge for PT Cruisers painted Inferno Red but there was no additional cost for Bright Seamist Green Metallic paint with the heavy metal-flake.

I have seen two Sea Mist Green PT's in person. 1 was not a GT for sure the other I couldn't tell for the traffic I was sitting in.

The first I saw in Pheonix Arizona and it was an Arizona PT the other was in local traffic here in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles..

So Sea Mist Green joins the ranks of Rarest PT colors along with the Forest, and Olive Green..

Gary,

How did you go about finding out how many seamist green Cruisers DC made? I'm interested in finding out how many two-tones were made. I love mine and see them very rarely despite all the comments I get.

Thanks!Wave

You can go to the DC website and either send an e-mail or call them regarding any question that you may have about your car. I called them and was told they would need time to research my question. They called me back within 48 hours with the information I had requested. Cool

Obviously not everyone has your taste in colors. In fact, it seems, very few do. If you like it, that's all that matters.

Gary,

Thanks for the info! I just sent an email to Chrysler asking them for the production numbers. I'll post their response for everyone to read. Is there a repository for information of this sort? Perhaps some sort of Cruiser trivia library?

I have always liked the seamist green. I wanted a seamist green ragtop but had to settle for a graphite one. Maybe down the road I'll have it repainted seamist.

Re: [Gary04GT] How rare are Seamist Green PT Cruisers? Can't Post

I wrote to Chrysler and asked how many black over bright silver metallic GT's were made, and here is their response:

"Our records indicate that DCX made 124 black/silver two-tone GT's in 2004."

SmileWOW!Smile I love my two-tone GT and expected to see more on the road considering the number of comments I got. Even the people at the dealership commented on it and seemed unaware that the two-tone option existed. When I chose my car, I had a choice between the GT and a Series 3 Dream Cruiser. It's nice to know now that I chose the rarer of the two!

Very rare indeed Cheers...at least for that year. Wonder if they are still making the two-tone models? If not, looks like you may own a REAL CLASSIC Bow Cruiser! Smile Dance

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that 2004 was the only model year that they offered two-tone as a paint option. I know it's no longer an option. If someone has any different information, let me know and I'll write DCX back and ask if they have any totals for all production years.
