Hwy 99 update Can't Post

Hi,Smile
Just a reminder that there are only 4 more days until the Highway 99 Cruise 'n Show in Bakersfield. We have planned a lot of activities and are hoping to see a lot of PTers there.
Friday, October 13, Registration will be at the Holiday Inn Select, 801 Truxtun Ave. from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. After you register, you can come out to the fairgrounds to Gate 26 and drop off you easy-ups. You will need your sticker on your car (driver's side) and your name tag to get in. Then you won't have to haul it around all weekend. There will be three of us there with motor homes spending the night. The fairgrounds are also locked up each night.
Around 3:00 in the afternoon, we will have some light snacks, wine, sodas, and water. This will just be for the PTs and will be in the Bakersfield PT Corral. Hope to see you there.Cheers
The Opening Ceremonies will begin at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Bakersfield on Chester Ave. We will be honoring James Warren, AA Dragster Total Restored, Big Foot Shocker, among many other exciting surprises. The Cruise will begin at 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 14, Patriotic Theme. Flag USASet up 6:30 a.m. Gate 26. The first 50 PTs to enter the Corral will receive a special patriotic goodie bag compliments of the Bakersfield PT Club. We hope you will enjoy it.
You don't have to come as a group as we have in the past because we have our own area - PT Corral.
Opening Ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. honoring some of our servicemen and the raising of the flag. We will also have a fly over of the Harman Rocket's Aerobatic Team. Following this we will return to the PT Corral for some games (Bingo, sack races, hula hoops, Bozo bucket games, cone head, etc.)and fun. Participants may be asked to help run some of the games. FM 99.9 will broadcast live at the fairgrounds Sat. and Sunday, so be sure to set you radio to 99.9 (Hwy 99).
During the day, Shocker and Big Foot will perform in the Grandstand area, the cars will be judged on Saturday with the awards being given around 4:00 p.m. The classes are stock, modified, extreme modified, woody, convertible, flames, mural/graphics, display (tailgate, ground, etc.), patriotic, and people's choice. All are judged 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Best in Show - First only. Later - neons - 1st, 2nd and 3rd to be presented Sunday.
There will be a dance with a beach band Saturday night, Bandwith Coconut Joe's vehicles. Come dressed like a surfer, if you like. (If the blue PT with the waterfall and fish is coming, please let me know.)
Sunday, October 15, Gates open at 6:30. Opportunity tickets for drawing. One ticket. 50/50 tickets - $ goes to Disabled American Veterans. Highway 99 Trophies, drawings, etc.
Hope you had a good time and a safe trip home.Smile
