Icy Freeze pop Cruiser..A tip for the coldnesssssss

We had some snow here on the east coast, and since my large two+ car garage with extra storage is packed..."almost got some space cleared for an actual car", my PT was left to weather the .....weather. So this morning my windows were frozen to the weather stripping and wouldn't go up and down. Hence I had a window on the outside of the convertible top! So here is a hint for those not in the know...get a butter knife and carefully and easily separate the rubber from the window and VOILA! Since more snow is coming tonight...I will definitely clear out some space and get the Nilla babe under cover. Also had a bit "o" slip-n-slide coming down a hill this morning on my way to the train, couldn't stop at the STOP, and a stiffly buil Beamer was barrelin down the road, quite un-nerving but she straighted out and held true! Thank god! ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.

Yes I find it quite annoying that we have to do this to get into our car. I understand that it's designed for top-down fun, and it's not really a winter car, but this is a design flaw if you ask me. It is only going to cause more wear and tear on the seals over the long haul. I've had my 'vert for 6 months now, and I hate it! ----------

Apparently this type of thing is evident on the big german mobiles like Mecedes and BMW. So it happens to them as well, no real way around it as far as design goes. It has only happend to me once, and simply using something to separate the rubber from the glass seems ok. Won't really wear too much if your careful. Only had the top down 2x as I got the car in September there was not much time left for warm waether! I am looking to swap out for the Stage 1 chip in the spring, all on this board tell me it boosts the 180hp to 230hp! Is easy to do as well. Enjoy! Love the blue color on the PT as well, have not seen too many Patriot blue converts! Enjoy and don't stress the lil things, like when a frined of mine told me the PT felt fast for having the same engine as the NEON! I almost gagged! ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.

Did you mean you hate the cold window freeze or the PT entirely? Hope it's the latter...like I said there are a few items that I wish were different, but that will be the same with any car... ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.

Since my PT is garaged at night I don't have that problem, but I would suggest putting on a thin coat of either WD-40 or petrolium jelly on the rubber seal. That should keep it from freezing to the glass. ---------- "You can fool some of the people all of the time." ...and thanks to the presidential approval polls we even know the exact percentage.

No I am trying to get rid of the PT entirely. I bought the non-turbo version, so it really is a pooch. It was also purchased for my wife who doesn't want to drive it in the winter, so I'm now stuck with it, and I hate it. I'm glad you all like yours so much, I am just jealous. Thanks for the compliment on the color, that's about the only thing I like about it. ----------

That's sad, sorry to hear...the freezy item happend to me the other day while going to the station for work...I just zipped a credit card between the window and the rubber seal and I was on my way. But the turbo does make a big diff. I test drove a 5spd and auto regular 4 banger and was a bit put off. This thurbo thang is mucho better. ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.
