Inside top liner bunching up when closing top Can't Post

For some time now, when I put my convertible top up, I have noticed on the driver's side, the inside liner edge kinda "bunches up", behind the metal frame just above the window. This is right where a hinge is located. I have to pull the edge of the liner out from behind the hinge. Now, for the last couple of weeks, the right side is doing it, too. My husband thinks it has to do with those elastic strips that are up in between the metal frame and the top liner "breaking down" and stretching. Any one else had this problem. Otherwise, the top is fine - it's just a hassle when the edge bunches up behind that hinge.

Yep, I know what you mean.

What part of Charleston do you live in? I live in Ladson but I work in Mt. Pleasant - sure is nice driving to work in the early morning with the top down - but kinda hot lately on the drive home on I-26.

I guess this is a common problem, mine just started doing that, just on the drivers side so far...

Not happened to mine yet. Question, would it be wrong to buy one of those Street Cruiser series badges from Ebay and stick it to my touring turbo lite? I like the look of the badge...

Mine is an 05. BTW, what is different about the top in the 05 and 06 that makes the 06 better?

The 06 tops are better built, they are thicker and have more sound proofing.

I looked at an 06 and dont see much of a diff , they are made by the same co. as the 05 "hartz"? and the dealer states they are the same. The 05 top is very high quality when it comes to sound proff and durability. Oh well.

Yah I looked to and they seem to be the same but the dealer told me the 06 and newer ones were different... but he didn't say better. My bunching is getting worse on my 06' I think I will take it in and show them. It's still only on the drivers side...... how odd

I think tour husband might be right! On mine u can see where the little rubber bands on the inside have all snapped! but only on the drivers side! That would explain why it only does in on the driver's side!

I wonder if he adjusted that elastic strap thingy? I was thinking of doing something with that.
