KN open air intake vs KN drop in intake

Please help what is the difference between a open intake and a drop in intake are the below links correct, sorry about the lack of knowledge Chief Depending on what intake you have, an open one will gain 2-3 hp, BUT you will lose 10+ lbs/ft of torque so that's a no brainer. If it is an open intake then sell it and get a K&N drop in one which will still give you a 2-3 hp gain, but you won't lose any torque. http://www.knfilters.com/...ct.aspx?Prod=63-1551 is this a open end intake http://www.knfilters.com/...ct.aspx?Prod=33-2351 is this a drop in intake ----------

I have seen several cars lose torque on the dyno because the open
intake was not sealed off from hot engine air. The drop in is enclosed
and sealed off from the hoy air. If you really want the look of an
intake then get the Apollo Intake or the Airade intake as they both
draw only cold air into the engine. ---------- 2005 Stone White SRT4 2004 Graphite Auto
