Re: [PTCCmike] Listing Events Can't Post

New insurance classification for Car Shows.

Every year we have to renew our liability insurance effective Feb 20.
We have just renewed for 2005 with K & K Insurance.

We pay an annual premuim based on how many active members we have that covers most events without any additional premium but there are some exceptions, for example:
Any events that involve competitive driving or are held at a drag strip, speedway or race track.
Car Shows, Poker Runs, Autocross, Slaloms, Field Trials or Time Trials.

This year we have been told by our insurance providor that Car Shows will now require an insurance premium payed in advance. We will pass on the expense to the people attending the event. If you are organizing a car show, poker run, or any event of the type mentioned above, you will need to collect registration fees and pay for the insurance in advance.

Liability Insurance Fees: (due 30 days in advance, no exceptions)
$179 for a Car Show, Rally, or Poker Run. (payable to K & K Insurance)
$15 document processing fee. (payable to PT Cruiser Club)
Rates quoted are for 250 people or less attending, for events over 250 people, contact us for quote.
Any drag strip, speedway or race track events, contact us for quote.

There are no additional premuims for cruises, meetings, meet & greets, picnics, parades, etc.

Re: [PTCCmike] Listing Events Can't Post

If you are organizing a car show or poker run then there is a required insurance premium ( $179 premium + $15 processing fee) for every car show or poker run.

A car show would be defined as an event where you have cars on display and are inviting or charging the public to view the cars. Like if you are advertising it as a car show, sending out flyers inviting people to come see the cars. If you are just having a meet at a diner like a cruise-in, that is not defined as a car show.

If you have other types of events that are not car shows you can avoid the insurance costs.
IE: cruises, meetings, meet & greets, cruise-in, picnics, parades, etc.

If you are attending a car show hosted by another organization then that is not our event and there would not be PTCC insurance needed. The insurance only applies to PTCC events.
