Love my PT, any visor advise?

Hello All..... I am fairly new here, I bought my '05 PT Conv GT Turbo Dream Cruiser in Oct of '07. It only had 14K miles on it and I have really enjoyed putting the top down on the days that I could. I was given the gift of custom pinstripping for xmas and have been adding a few little things here and there. It IS addicting!!! The color is called a Deep Lava Red, and when I got it I thought "you've got to be kidding" LOL it looks like a very very deep maroon. I had the pinstripping done in two colors, a pink and a magenta, which brings out the maroon color and makes it more "girlie". I am thinking of putting a wind visor on but I do worry that the solar plate that powers the rear view mirror compas and temp might not work with the visor in place. Any advise? Also, I just purchased this really cool retro style thingy off of ebay. Being 5-11 I have a problem seeing traffic lights. This is a cool looking prism wrapped in chrome on a marble base that allows you to comfortably see the lights without getting a kink in your neck. Anyway..... thanks for listening, and any advise on the visor would be appreciated. I am going to try and upload a pic or two. Pamela [/img] [/img] ----------

I was referring to the visor that is attached to the top of the front windshield and extend about 6 inches down. I thought that was called a sun visor, but I may be wrong. Pamela ----------

I have the same PT as you, Great car, the mirror, (compass, & temp gauge), is powered by the cars electrical system, it does not have a solar panel, and does not auto dim, the only thing that may be there, (but was not offered on the DC4, but may have been added later, the only factory option for a DC4 was either Auto or manual trans), is an antenna for GPS or Satellite radio, I have seen a small black box mounted behind the mirror on other convertibles that is this antenna. Now all this is assuming the it is the factory mirror, and not an after market add on, and if it is an antenna of some sort, then using a ABS plastic or fiberglass sun visor would be no problem. If it is an add on antenna of some sort you would want to stay away from a metal or chrome plated visor. I also use the traffic light viewer, great little item! ---------- '05 GT Dream Cruiser Series 4. No.1109 My Mods PT Trailer Project Our PTs

The conly place that I know of that sells a sun visor for PT convertible is California Cruisers. If you order one from them be ware. Most people usually send there products back to them . If your lucky enough to get them to take it back. Most of there stuff doesn't fit. But they do have a nice looking visor. ---------- big jim
