Meaning of "PT"

Hello fellow PT lovers/drivers!!
I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not the "PT" in PT Cruiser means anything? I know other cars two letter "identifiers" mean something. Such as SS, Super Sport, GT, Grand Tourismo, etc.

It actually means Personal Transport however there are a lot more creative definitions that I hope you will see here shortly.

In the midwest we could call them Praire Travel Cruisers. Or Pooty Tang Cruisers (according to guys at work!). LOL
