Mid West USA Regional Sept 15 - 17 Can't Post

The newly revamped and relocated PTCC event is ready to rock and roll into its seventh annual run!!!

The "Mid West USA Regional" is our new name, and Route 66's historic Claremore, Oklahoma is our location for 2006. Come join us where "the Will Rogers Highway" intersects with "Main Street USA".

The event dates are: September 15 - 17, 2006

Event information can be found at our club's site.

http://www.oldschooldesigns.com/...yfaringCruisers.html

The site will have event details updated frequently.

Oklahomans spearheaded the national committee to form Route 66, and even gave the route its double six designation.

Come join us for a fun old school style car event with something for the whole family. You won't be bored!!

This event is hosted by "the Wayfaring Cruisers" chapter of the PTCC South region.

Well sir, our club's intentions is to put the old school car club fun back into an event. We also intend to give that "surfer boy" in Missouri a run for his money.

The site has a few more teasers added now, and a whole lot more to come.

So, as Hank said, "If ya wanna have fun ...come along with me".

And if you don't.....well, y'all will just miss out then.

Besides all that, flowered island shirts and black leather jackets just clash...at least around here. Wink

A few additional teasers and info have been added to the event site....just to keep y'all guessing. This seventh annual event is coming together nicely.

There will be plenty of activities during the daytime event, and you can always cruise the town with us each night if you want to. The bad guys know us....and they leave us alone.

No competition here... Bow We're just glad to see you and others keeping the "PT FEVER" alive especially here in the Midwest.

With so many other big events closing down and throwing in the towels, we need to continue the die-hard Cruiser fanatics tradition of fun PT events.

We'll be sure to refer some of our MMISL attendees your way as well... Outtahere

Dang BK, it took you long enough to catch on Wink

Yep, we need to put the "worthwhile" back into an event again. If people go to all the trouble to show up, the least we can do is to make them happy and look forward to next year.

Cruisers keep asking me for more details about the MWUSAR, but I tell them they won't see everything posted public until after MMISL so the surfer boy doesn't keep copying me (Rain Man... hint... hint)

BTW, why just refer some of your attendees? We will keep them all busy.

Thanks for being gracious enough to mention our event the way you have on the different sites. We look forward to another great year at MMISL with the Gateway Cruisers, and we appreciate all you do for your club.

A few additional items have been listed on the event site.

If you have had enough "sitting around events" for the year, plan on coming to the Mid West USA Regional on the real Will Rogers Highway. Oh, and remember to bring your "tall" pants. You may need them for this cool event.

A few additional items have been listed, and more are yet to come along in the next couple weeks.

If you miss the way car clubs used to be, then check out this event. The registration is easy, and the trip back into time will be well worth it. Just remember to leave your brass knucks at the desk, as this event is being held on neutral turf.

Based on conversations with clubs, individuals, and registrations, we should have these states represented so far.
OK, AR, KS, TX,IL,IN,MO,CO (possibly), & UK

We still have room, so y'all quit procastinating and get your colors ready.

Good to here from ya' Im4cruisin! I think you should just bring your brother to the event! I grew up on Hwy 48 between Bristow, Sapulpa, Drumright & I too graduated from Olive, Okla. I see that there is a Tulsa group that meets at the Sonic off of Harvard, so the next trip I make to visit mi familia, I am going to try & go to this for the fun of it! As I said... just bring your brother! I am sure there will be animals to hunt there! Ha! ~ Jump 2

Hi Dream2~
Unfortunately, the Antelope tag my brother drew isn't in OK!
(I found out the scoop on Antelope locations, while I was in Red River~ Thanks Mike!!)

Hubby Butch grew up 5 miles out west of Sapulpa and went to Sapulpa High. Matter of fact, we lived in his old family home on Lincoln Street, across the street from the school. We were on the corner right next to the doughnut shop there. They have demolished the house now, sadly. Butch's grandad built it and his mom grew up in it. Frown
My mom's family is from your state, up in the Concordia area.

Annnnnyway, I too will try to make the Sonic thing, the next time I'm in T Town!..Wave

A few additional vendors and updates have been added to the site, and there are still more vendors to be added. Hey, I can only type so fast with 2 fingers.

Cooler weather, tons of things to see and do, the real 66, lots of great vendors, a county fair, a great cruzing town, one great location and facilities, all help to make this a great event.

Get rested up, because this is the one you've been waiting for. Help put the fun back into an event....that's what we're here for.

Re: [OldSchool] Mid West USA Regional Sept 15 - 17 Can't Post

Once again, updated information has been added to the Mid West USA Regional event site. Our club is still adding vendors and other tid bits to this event.

Several of our club’s members have been asked many times as to why we wanted to take on an event here in the Mid West. They often replied, “Why not”?

If you are not familiar with our club, many of us have been cruising for many, many years. Older now we are, but we still hear the sound of the open road…..and even the sound of sirens behind us at times.

We remember when car clubs were both family and foe at times, and several of us wore out a few “drag plates” showing our club colors. Times and cars change, but the true cruiser lifestyle is still alive.

The cruiser lifestyle is what we want the older ones to enjoy once again, and to possibly introduce it to the younger ones. Not the driving around the block “American Graffiti” kind, but the wayfaring spirit of the open road.

Our club, the Wayfaring Cruisers, wants to put the “fun” back into a PT cruiser event just like they all were a few years ago. Remember? The PT Cruiser events were fresh, new, and exciting. Today, several cruiser events look alike, with little resemblance to what they may have been at one time. A few events have either shut down, or are shutting down from lack of interest of one kind or another.

It is our opinion that an event should be a place for cruisers to get together and have fun, make new friends, meet old friends again, enjoy the cruiser lifestyle as cruiser family. We would like to introduce our wayfaring spirit of the open road and camaraderie to you.

Many of you reading this may know exactly what I mean….and if so, we hope to see you in September. To those of you reading this that don’t have a clue about what I mean…well, come on anyway and we will explain by example.

Why have an event here in the Mid West? Why not? We’ll simply call it the Mid West USA Regional. Hey, it’ll be fun! We can do this, and then we can………

If you like gambling, there is a casino located a few miles from our event site....but if you like better odds....get in on some of our raffles for cool items.

I won't list the items to be raffled off here, but at least one of them will require a trailer hitch.
