My first PT & it is a Convertible

HI EVERYONE!!! I am new to the club ... both PT Cruisers and the forum ... I am LOVING the PT Convertible Touring Edition ... yep have to wear shaded all the time now ... this thing is awsome ... I got Inferno Red, but my only complaint is that Chrysler doesn't know what Red actually is ... lol ... it really is more of a maroon ... I am use to a fire engine red color ... but I must say this red is an excellent color ... the other really cool thing about having a PT cruiser this soon is EVERYONE comments and looks when it is out on the town ... pretty funny watching people gawk over my car I'm loving every minute of it ... I'm looking forward to making new friends and having a good time cruising around and showing off the PT ... I am in the Chattanooga, TN/North Georgia area, so any events or get to gethers let me know ... Later, Vince ----------

Hey congratulations there on your new car! I had the same reaction when I bought my 2001 nearly 4 years ago people just gawking and asking millions of questions. I drove a GT edition convertible that was loaded and I was sort of concerned that there seemed to be some shake in the cowl windshield area.....and was wondering if you noticed any of that over bumpyroads. Otherwise it rode and drove just fine. Am considering the five speed Touring Model for my needs as Im not really sure that the turbo is what I need, My other cruiser is also a five speed and Im really happy with it. Again congrats on your car and now time for the modifications to begin....Have a great day! ----------

Congrats on the new purchase, Vince. Keep that towel handy for all the drool that happens when people look at it just a little too close. Also watch out for the every present silly grin that you get every time you drive. It has a habit of turning into a full-blown toothy smile every time someone looks, points, and gives the thumbs up. After 2 years and almost 30,000 miles, I still can't stop grinning. ----------

This is my first PT as well and I also bought the convertible last Friday! It is a great little car and I agree with you on the waves and looks! I gave up my Grand Cherokee for it, but really haven't regretted it so far. Mine is the electric blue turbo GT model and I have had a ball with it so far! Reminds me of a '69 VW I once had!!!!! (the fun quotient only folks, no flames please!) I have the autostik as well and it reminds me of the old 727 slapsticks in hubby's 72 Challenger...... I know I will enjoy it immensely and if they are all built as well as mine is, Chrysler has a winner again on their hands I think. I also think we may have beat the rush before everyone wants one and the dealers start acting crazee again with the pricing. I can hardly wait to get it on the highway and back on the country roads this summer - - that's when the real fun will start for me. Enjoy your car! ----------

Hi Vince, I am also a new to the club! I just got my new PT Convertible yesterday. I got the Touring Edition - Graphite Gray with dark interior and black top! I traded in my Dodge Durango but I have a feeling that it is going to be well worth it. When it came in on the transport truck for delivery there were people standing around wanting to buy it but ooooppps sorry, already sold. I have already seen heads turn when I roll up to a light or stop sign. Enjoy Diane ----------

Hey BIGMAMMA...I drove up and was lucky enough to find the PT on the lot before anyone else in town found out about them...3 weeks later the dealer had an open house with 1 GT on the floor and a blue Touring...the GT was bought off the show room floor with no test drive and the blue one was being test driven and I think it was purchased later that night... Maybe you should go online to chrysler.com and check out inventories and start calling around to find out who has one and go get it... Good luck with tracking one down... ----------

Hi I just got my convertble on May 22nd. We went to a PT Cruiser car show at a Chrysler dealer in PA. I had a black 2001 with flames. My wife and I entered the show and while we were there we looked at the convertables. All along I wanted a base model and they actually had one in my wifes favorite PT color, Light Almond. We worked out the deal and I left with a new convertable ( along with a trophy, my 2001 won in it's class). I am having a ball with this car ----------
