My new to me 06 vert

Yesterday I picked up my marine blue 06 vert with auto trans. It has 32k on it and looks and runs like new. Now we are a two PT family. I bought an 02 sedan new with a 5 spd which currently has 74K on it. Love em both but can't wait for top down weather. Have not posted in quite some time; just wanted to say hi. Regards, Frank ----------

Thanks. Just my luck. An arctic blast is now upon us. Zero degrees is a bummer. Regards, Frank ----------

Welcome to the ranks of convertible owners, Frank. It is a bummer being up here in the arctic North while or brothers and sisters are enjoying top down weather in other regions. It's about 16 degrees as I write this and as we are north of you this wind is on its way to Long Island. At least our tops won't wear out as quickly. So far mine has been down only once, as depicted on the left - just in the dealer's lot on delivery day. But we are planning a trip to Florida in the next month or so.... ---------- 2008 PT Cruiser Conv 5-sp

Hi Frank I have an '06 Convertible-Touring-5sp I bought new and just turned 30k. Every mile has been a delight. I've owned 3 convertibles in the last 40yrs and this one is the quietist and the most solid of all. With the top down and boot on it seldom fails to get a compliment Paul/Vanillarag ----------

That's great. I am looking to put cruise control on mine. I do not have the boot for the top but have been looking for one. Leather interior is a expensive dream too. Regards, Frank ----------

I have a gray boot cover that works with the 2006-2008 PT Cruiser convertible. I was going to get a leftover 2006 last spring that did not include one, but ended up getting a new 2007 that had one, so the brand new one I got on eBay for $100 plus shipping is for sale since I now have two of them. If interested, email me at david.nau@sbcglobal.net. I'm asking $95 plus $15 for shipping. Cruise Controls for 2006-2008 can be added by a dealer with the kit from Chrysler. You are in for a great time. Nothing says fun like the air and sunshine on your head. I kinda like the waves and smiles I get too. ----------

Okay, today, finally, the top went down. High temp was about 65; still a little chilly zooming on the expressway home from work but I'll take it. WooHoo! Regards, Frank ----------

Yes, Frank, up here across the (Long Island) Sound in Connecticut I had my top dropped as well. Being away from the water we were a bit warmer, about 72 F degrees. Warmest weather since last October. In my younger days back in the early 70s I would have the top of my MGA down if the temp was above 45. And that car had a very minimal heater. ---------- 2008 PT Cruiser Conv 5-sp

I still have my old Triumph Spitfire and yes I too drove it with the top down in much colder weather back in the day. The top on it is, at best, a suggestion. It is a pain to put up and down too. When driven in the rain, you get wet. I am spoiled by the great top on the PT; best vert I have ever been in in that regard. Regards, Frank ----------
