New Dream Cruiser 3 Can't Post

TongueHi to all I am new to this forum but not to the cruisers, this is my third and by far the nicest one! I ordered an 01 back in 2000 and waited 5-6 months for it. I loved the car but the standard engine had a lot to be desired! I traded the 2001 in for an 03 GT back in Sept.02 but that was a mistake. I loved the power but wanted a 5 speed and settled on the autostick, first mistake. I asked the dealer to just wash and deliver the car but twice I caught the prep guy wheeling mt paint and then I found about 10 scratches. The prep guy must have slipped putting on or removing the antenna and left a nice line of scratches down to the metal! Long story short my Chrysler dealer experience has not been great. Well I sold the 03 and bought a Mustang, well that was OK but I never lost the PT bug. I decided to buy a used 5 speed GT and found my DC3 quite by accident and then I found out they would let it go for 10 grand off! Well the rest is history, I sold a Mustang that was one of 1800 and bought a PT that is one of 1300. Gotta say I am not unhappy with Chryslers actual number I thought the built the 7500! Mine is a 5 speed do you informed PT owners know the break down for stick verse auto? The last 4 of my VIN is 1127 is this my sequence number? Thanks in advance and I was also wondering if anyone is going to Cruise The Falls 5 I am for the 4th time. Rich

CheersCheers & congrats on your DC#3, yes the last 4 digits is the series number of the number of when the car was created & actually there were only 1309,(i think) of the DC#3 made in mexico, mine is # 1276 & I have had mine for a year this July! I just love the two tone exterior & interior & the Turbo is totally rad! If you look back at some of the messages from approx year ago, Gary was making car plaques for the DC#3 series, check it out, I bought one to onto my dash. I will be going to the KC & Winfield rally this year & possibly the St Louis Rally. Hope to meet ya one of these events! Congrats once again!!!! Cruzin Crystal

Re: [mightyss] New Dream Cruiser 3 Can't Post

My nephews girlfriends 04 Dream with auto did like 13.80 with stage1 and BOV. There were only 1309 of our cars built I assumed not many 5 speeds but I am starting to worry seems to be many 5 speeds. At cruise the falls 5 there were only 2 out of 5 or 6 total DC3s.

rich, that time sounds GREAT!! ive been reading up, and seems to me stage 1(just an ecm change for our cars), BOV, seem to be the hot ticket for a low buck hp increase.....5 spd was how i got mine so cheap....no one wanted it..lol

Re: [mightyss] New Dream Cruiser 3 Can't Post

The dealer that had mine had 2 identical 5 speeds he sold one a couple of weeks before I bought mine. I found another 5 speed advertised in NJ for what I paid for mine, $19400 I told my dealer and he matched the price. I hear the stage1 BOV and K&N drop in filter are the best way to go.

Dance Way to go Steve & Congrats!!! Isn't the paint job totally Kewl!!! So retro!!! The leather interior is pretty spiff!! And I love the turbo get up & go!!! I don't have a 5-Speed, but I can swith it to the auto-stick, Which I did on Turner Turnpike late one evening in Okla. & I reach 120 mph pretty fast, I then slowed down , I don't have any radar detectors & i couldn't see far enogh ahead! If you attend the Kansas City Cruiser convention this August 25-27 you will get to actually take your PT out on the Kansas Speedway , Registration ends July 30th, so get signed up!!!
