according to The Detroit News Auto Insider Sneak Peeks: June 5, 2003 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Hans G. Lehmann / Hidden Image Topless PT Cruiser to go on sale in spring 2004 Chrysler has been gradually fleshing out its PT Cruiser family, with the introduction in the past year of a 'woody' version and a high-performance turbocharged model. The next addition to the range will be a convertible, first seen in concept form at the 2001 New York Auto Show and confirmed for production at the 2002 Geneva auto show. Chrysler has said the PT Cruiser convertible will go on sale in spring 2004, probably as an '05 model. Like the Geneva concept, the production version is a two-door soft top with accommodations for four adults. It features a folding canvas top and a 'basket handle' rollbar. The rear seats also can be folded to create a two-seater with a huge cargo area. Chrysler reportedly will offer both the normally aspirated and turbo four-cylinder engines, mated to an Auto Stick transmission. -- Paul Lienert ----------

It would be nice to have a ragtop, but that backend looks a little weird. Don't you think? ----------

I totally agree. The rounded backend is much more appealing than the squared-off one. ----------

Man what a kewl look, but I swore I would NEVER buy another 2-door car after I got rid of my Chevy Blazer. Maybe once Alex is grown....this could be my mid-life crisis automobile!

I can't wait. I already have my license plates for it "TPLS PT". I hope they are planning to offer it with the turbo and a 5 speed because I really don't want an auto. My 2001 early edition PT will then become the delivery vehicle for my store. ----------
