nice knob! to remove the old one, pull straight up on it... it might take a bit of force to get the clip to release... assuming it's the 5 speed in your signature... ---------- Joel

Thanks so much for that vendor Karen, I love those knobs, some of them are pretty frightening looking. All of them are cool. How could you make up your mind? I love yours. I always take everything to my installer, he knows me so well that I do not even have to pay unless something big like that graphic. He did our signs at work for the door and parking area. How does the new one attach? I had to attach my 8 Ball gear shifter knob with epoxy for a good fit, they sent some double stick tape that was supposed to go inside the hole and hold it on, but it didn't seem tight enough. ---------- 2005 Bright Silver Convertible, 5 speed with 8 ball knob, chrome door spears, chrome gas cap door, chrome antenna bezel, chrome grill kit, chrome rear bumper pillows, chrome bumper trim, stainless antenna with flames, stainless door panel trim, chrome smoothies with baby moons, 2" wide "gangster" white walls, chrome tail light trim, K&N air filter element in a modified airbox and an oogah horn. actually wiring the light is pretty easy! because of the way these cars are mass produced they all have the same wiring harness, so a car with a 5 speed has the electrical plug under the console for the automatic trans shifter light. All you have to do is connect the wire form the shift knob light to the wire under the shifter boot... ---------- Joel

I had a similarly designed knob back when I had my Firebird. First you find the right plastic peice that fits over your shaft. Different cars have different shaft sizes, so they include the different plastic peices just to make sure it will fit. Then you put the knob over the plastic piece and use the allen screw to tighten the whole thing down. Once you get the old knob off, it should be just a matter of minutes to get the new one on. Good luck!! -Ray ----------

That particular knob would not work on a automatic transmission PT.Ginny's PT is a 2003 Patriot Blue Woody with a automatic transmission, and I had changed out the Cue Ball shifter knob with a wood shifter knob that was a prototype made by my friend David of Old School Designs. In removing and replacing the knob I used a tork wrench to loosen the set screw and pull the old knob off........Mike ---------- Mike Casabianca His: 2001 Black LE with Auto Transmission, BullDog Signs Flames, WeatherTec wind deflectors, cargo area mat, PT trash can, PT valve stem caps and Dart's coldair intake, chrome tail and headlight bezels, chrome bumper inserts, chrome license plate pillow, chrome fender trim, 1940's retro chrome on front and back fenders, door spears, chrome hatch door trim, chrome gas door, brushed chrome door sills, billet door pins, custom "BlueHaze" dash mat, MRK Group lugnut covers, dome light trim, etc. and the chrome goes on......
